Don't worry he'll come good. In the last 7 games of the season

its crazy how we've reinterpreted what attributes are necessary to be judged a successful striker these days. really don't see him being used much this year with the arrival of keane

I wonder how he would do at a team like Man U or Arsenal in a strikers role?

he'd never get pitch time. both teams prefer strikers with pace, touch and an eye for goal. dirk has none of these qualities

I think he'll do well in your backyard.

I don`t really understand all this Kuyt bashing.
He doesn`t cut it as a striker, so Rafa moved him RW. He`s better in this position, not worldclass, and is a handy player there.
Yes, he was bought as a striker, but is now seen as winger by Rafa. We have bought strikers to replace him that position, and should judge him by his RW play. He isn`t the typical quick, tricky winger, but he certainly does a decent job there.

He's not a winger though, nor is he a right midfield man; he's a right-sided forward, and can be pretty effective in that role - his best performances in the Euros and last season were in this position...

So... the only way he gets a game for us is when we play 4231 IMO.

In the Premier League fantasy football game he is now listed as a midfielder.

                          Says it all really.

I can see him starting on the bench a fair bit this season with Keane behind Torres, Babel on the left and Gerrard on the right.
A humble guy with healthy desire.

until we sign (add your fantasy winger here) Kuyt will do a job for us. It's clear that we can improve upon him but he is a handy squad player. I'd rather have him in there giving 100% than say pennant who will just not bother

100% agree with you. at best he'll make sub appearances when his 'energy' will be of use.
