Reserves Suffer Heavy Defeat.

It was a disappointing night for Liverpool Reserves as they lost 5-0 in a pre-season friendly at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
The match was hosted by Inverness in a testimonial for local hero Barry Wilson and hesitant defending proved to be very costly for the Reds.

Spanish striker Daniel Pacheco missed a great chance after 11 minutes when he failed to hit the target when clean through, and that was as good as it got for Gary Ablett's side.

Inverness led 2-0 at half-time and Mikel San Jose also scored an own goal from an overhit back pass. The SPL side added three more goals after the break to complete their tally.
Craig Lindfield also went close for Liverpool when his fine effort was well saved.

Liverpool conclude their tour of Scotland with a match away at Hamilton Academical on Wednesday night.

Abblett will want to win every game and will have to report back to Rafa after. Can you imagine him saying to Rafa that we did not try and we had nothing to prove. It would not be the attitude of a winner.

It will have been their first team, or at least a mixture, Ablett said he only wanted to play first teams this pre-season rather than reserves as a way of testing the lads. Looks like they got tested tonight then

They've actually been getting thumped fairly regularly in pre-season. A couple of 4-1 defeats I think.

The young lads were taught a footballing lesson tonight by the Inverness first team, for the first 10 mins they ran circles around Inverness and then it was like Rafa had rotated the whole squad.Inverness made them look very ordinary.I have to say though that the average age of the Liverpool team was probably about 18-yrs old.
