DIC deny interest in Manchester City

Anfield our only target, says DIC
Aug 25 2008 by David Bartlett, Liverpool Daily Post

DUBAI International Capital are “only interested” in buying Liverpool FC, it was confirmed by a source last night, after it was reported the company was bidding for a stake in Manchester City.

It was reported yesterday that troubled Manchester City owner Thaksin Shinawatra was in talks with DIC about buying a 10% to 15% share in the club.

The Daily Post under- stands that, while there is Middle Eastern interest in buying into Manchester City, it is not coming from Dubai.

A source close to DIC said: “DIC are not interested in getting involved in Man City, their interest is only in Liverpool Football Club.”

If DIC were to acquire a share in another Premier League club, it would then not be able to buy into Liverpool if American co-owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks decided to sell.

Companies are not allowed to own more than one football club.

I thought DIC were not interested in the club anymore, but the sheik was.
At least it`s good to see that there are things still happening around the ownership issue.

DIC are coming back in for us

      i wish
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Just to try ans stir things up abit.
If DIC is still intersted could it be better for the long term future of LFC if we go out against Lierse?
No CL would be a massive blow to the club, and espesially the financial side. Could this be the last straw that forces the owners to sell?

Nah will just stop Rafa spending another 10mil or so on a winger
There problems will start again at the end of Sept if they can't prove they got funding for the stadium and grants will be taken away and then again at the end of Jan when the deadline to re-finace the loan they currently have out on the club comes along again.

I take that post to mean that you believe the whole DIC thing is dead and buried and that they will never come back in for LFC??

At the game at the weekend there was a girl in the pub who claimed to be mates with Echo journalists, and she was saying that a takeover was already agreed but that the Echo had been told not to report it (sounds a bit odd to me, that bit). She said it would all go through in January.

Plenty of rumours around hinting that a deal has been agreed (her, pezzer, others on rawk etc.). No smoke without fire?
