I wouldn't have a problem with it but Rafa seems to prefer Yossi from the bench at the moment.

I know what you’re saying and he obviously couldn’t play that role with the effectiveness of a Torres or a Drogba. Kuyt as a lone striker shouldn't ever happen but it did sometimes - most notably in a European Cup final.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostOnly reason why Yossi was on the bench against Wigan was a slight knock he carried. I expect him to start tonight on the right, with Kuyt and Keane up front. Keane as lone striker shouldn't ever happen.
However I do think it’s a bit of a myth that Keane is a deep-lying support striker. For me he’s an out and out centre-forward, albeit better off for the presence of a bigger partner.
Yossi has been on the bench a lot more regularly than simply the Wigan game. If he starts tonight in a 4-4-2 that would mean Rafa leaving out one of Mascherano or Alonso, and that ain’t gonna happen IMO.Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I think Rafa will leave out one of Alonso/Masch plenty of times during the season because he's made a strategic decision to go with 4-4-2 when he signed Keane and put Gerrard in the middle. It's going to cause a selection headache nearly every game but I guess that's how Rafa wants it.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostI know what you’re saying and he obviously couldn’t play that role with the effectiveness of a Torres or a Drogba. I think Babel as a lone striker would be a better option than both Kuyt and Keane in that role, something I'd consider for the Chelsea game if we're going 4-2-3-1 and Torres is out.

keane has done very little of value to date in a liverpool shirt. he has a really intelligent footballing brain, he should start using it more instead of running around like a headless chicken.
don't think he is anything other than a supporting striker and i'd rather see babel play infront of him with torres is out.

i agree with the first part, i simply think he is trying too hard.Originally posted by rage View Postkeane has done very little of value to date in a liverpool shirt. he has a really intelligent footballing brain, he should start using it more instead of running around like a headless chicken.

he has always been a striker who has missed oportunities, but he has also always scored goals. i actually think fernando is a difficult one to partner anyone with as he will come a bit deaper and try and use his pace to get in behind.
i think he just needs time and the goals will come, understanding takes time to develop.
too early to judge yet.

I have this sneey feeling that he'll be a hit in the Champions League, he will score tonight, I'd put some money on it but no-one accepts the Icelandice Krona anymore, might put down two punds of haggis though if anyone is interested?* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
