sorry if this has been covered in the post match thread (far too long to check) and for not bringing it up sooner, but did anyone else notice that at the end of the game Alonso sloped off on his own whilst the rest of the team stayed to celebrate on the pitch? am hoping there's nothing in it but it bothered me at the time as he's one of the team

Can't blame him if he did, Rafa seems to have made it quite clear to him he's surplus to requirements so his confidence must be at a bit of a low at the moment.
For the record I hope he stays and i'd love it if he chipped in with a few more goals this season to help us maintain a title challengeWe managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

however, having failed with the Barry bid, i can see staying unless, Rafa's got someone lined up for his role

Yeah he didn't look happy. When the final whistle went someone jumped on him but he didn't want to know whilst Carragher, Skrtel, Gerrard, Keane etc were all high fives etc.Originally posted by redstaralex View Postsorry if this has been covered in the post match thread (far too long to check) and for not bringing it up sooner, but did anyone else notice that at the end of the game Alonso sloped off on his own whilst the rest of the team stayed to celebrate on the pitch? am hoping there's nothing in it but it bothered me at the time as he's one of the team"Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. He made a few high profile mistakes with corners and the goal, but he was one of the few players looking the ball and trying to get the team to play. He was instrumental in both our goals, hit the cross that deflected to Carra and played the ball that was cushioned down for the winner.Originally posted by Chris View PostHe was garbage so it wouldnt surprise me if he was just gutted with his own performance, he seems that type of pro.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Gerrard, Torres etc weren't much better though, didn't see them look do downbeat when the final whistle went.Originally posted by -V- View PostHe was probably walking off wondering why yet again he failed to clear the first man with all 7 of his corners.
FFS even i can put in a decent cross or 2 from a corner, yet Xabi who is such a quality passer can't even get it over the first defender. He was poor and he knew it"Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Did i say he should be???Originally posted by Chris View PostGerrard scored a stoppage time winner, why on earth would he be downbeat?
Alonso played a part in the two goals so why shouldn't he be going off the pitch in good spirits like the rest of the players."Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been.
