i just find it incomprehensible how so much money can be spent, but no actual improvement can be made, and worst of all the man in charge of this is not being held accountable.

I'm not sticking up for Rafa 100% mate. But when you say 'so much money can be spent' - we're paupers compared to United & Chelsea. United can spend £60m-odd on Carrick, Hargreaves, Anderson & Nani - none of who are regulars. Chelsea can write off £30m on Shevchenko and spend £16m on a right back. Their bench costs £££s.

Remember the squad that Rafa inherited? And that not only has he had to keep up, people have expected him to overtake Utd & Chelsea on the money that he's had. I'm not saying he's faultless in the transfer market, but lets cut him some slack. Bottom line is the benchmark has been significantly raised - and we were miles behind to start off with.
