You think Masherano will be back in for the Villa game with Alonso ?

He never shows up against United anyway so maybe it's a blessing in disguise if he misses that one.

I wonder what Alonso and Mascher will be like in midfield if Alonso is allowed to move forward?

        So 442 at Villa then?

With it going to extra time, there was every chance Gerrard wouldn't have played now we have Lucas and Masch are back agianst villa. He's missing nothing until Scum. I think Rafa will revert to the 3 mid hopefully now masch is back. JM with both lucas and xabi ahead of him against Villa.

So who's dropped out of Kuyt and Keane then?

I'd go without Keane, doesn't bring any balance to the team in with a 3 man midfield.

So you'd have Alonso as the 'in the hole' player, behind Torres?

Nothing wrong with benchin Keane if needs be.

Might have a bigger impact coming off the bench, for a couple of games early on..

Depends if Rafa gets his tactics right..

Being dropped will do the world for Keane's confidence.

No I would play no player in the hole.

Simple. Masch With Lucas and Xabi either side of him. With Babel Torres Kyut. No 'in the hole' player.

I suppose with Babel and Kuyt's tendencies to always come inside, they'd get close enough to support Torres.

Could work, the midfield trio would be a nice solid base to protect the back four.

Lets not forget they have Young and Agbolnawhore and pace to burn

Well yes, a protective trio would be useful for that too.

Counter attack relies on pace though and aside from Torres, we'll have none.

                              Babel wont start.
