I think it'd be fine with Mascher and Alonso as CMs, especially away from home because Villa wont sit back and congest the middle like Boro and Liege did, meaning we wont be crying out for width as much as the last 2 games.

Sorry, actually refering to your comment on pervious thread about dropping Keane, If everyone was fit. Keane would not be in my starting line-up and we would not player 4-4-2 with the players we have.

If Gerrard was fit, i'd probably actually go with Keane in Kuyt's position and play 4231.

Anyway, personally I'd drop Benny rather than Kuyt, I think he's even more lost in the role he's being asked to play at the moment than Dirk is, and even more so in a 4-2-3-1. Babel doesn't look fit (or on his game) at all so someone has to play the inside left role in that formation, I'd make that Keane, and personally I would start Lucas, I think there's a lot to come from that lad this season and he does the simple things well in midfield, which is something we need.

So, I think I'd go with something approaching a 4-3-3.....

Aurelio doesn't deserve to be dropped and El Zar has been great, I'd prefer Pennant but Rafa won't pick him so this team would for be the best bet.

I think that will be the team. Can see Agger and Benayoun play ahead of Skrtel and Babel, but that's about it.
