Reira and Benayoun...?

I have never watched Reira play (only watched 5 min. on you tube actually) but can someone assure us that this guy is better at least than Yossi???

He's a natural left footer for a start, and has a much greater physical presence.

From the couple of times I saw him play a full match for city plus assorted MOTD highlights he seemed to have a decent cross on him and worked hard for the team.

However he's no greyhound.

Yossi is a good player just he has no left foot and not the pace of, say, a Babel to make up for it. When fit Kewell did a job for us even though he had lost a fair bit of his pace because he had a left foot and could pass with it or cross with it. Yossi's only real option is to stop and then cut inside.

I'm convinced Yossi would do a better job than Kuyt playing on the right where he would be able to give defenders more to think about.

I think people are right that simply adding a left footer is a big bonus. I'd keep Kuyt in the team myself Benayoun has been swapping to the right a lot and IMO has been less of a threat than Kuyt and last season in a system that suited him more we saw that Kuyt could produce great balls from that side.

We could really do with someone good at set pieces too (although Aurelio deserves and honourable mention for his efforts this season).
