Kuyt should have been moved to lead the line when Torres went off and bring on Babel to play on the right. The manner of the performance is what upsets me most. Our passing was very sloppy in Villa's half and there was a huge lack of movement up front.
On the good side, defense looked solid again and Dossena did a lot better - he has a good cross on him and hopefully he will attack more in future games.

Anybody who thinks Villa away is an easy fixture needs there head checked, it was ugly, it was effective .. top of the Lg unbeaten .. one goal conceded from open play ...Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostLet's try actually making some counter-points without dropping in snotty remarks. Otherwise the place become a zoo.
We have to beat the Mancs now ... lets keep our powder dry shall we ... we continue to pick up points whilst not exactly playing at our best .. we should have had a penalty so you could make the case we could have walked away with all 3 points ... lets not lose our heads just yet ... 3 game of the season .. bedding in a new striker have not lost .. our form will get better end of story

I'm not saying we should go all out attack, but today I was disappointed because we never looked like we want to win, we came for a point and hoped to nick something, we never took the game to Villa, we worried about them rather than letting them worry about usOriginally posted by liverpooltj View PostI'd like to win on the Lotto and start banging Beyonce but it's not going to happen. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

does anyoe else not agree that with over 100 million spent (forget bloody net spend figures) in 18 months, we - the fans should be getting more for their money? (cue people calling me a WUM and not supporter of this club)
can i also ask, why does andy gray and pretty much all of the pundits wind a lot of you up so much? Even one poster was calling alan green a cunt earlier? The man is a die hard red FFS. The simple truth is this, they speak the truth, and at the moment the truth is not nice - which hurts a lot of you, but a lot of you don't want to hear it.
There are plain cold facts about the current benitez regime that cannot be argued against.
1) We have not as yet challenged for the league
2) The team is severely lacking in cohesion / any idea how to approach a game with a cut throat attacking state of mind
3) 200 million spent in 4 years - still not one winger capable of holding a first team place
4) Baffling substitutions / lack of substitutions
5) Playing a 20 million striker out of position
6) Playing a 10 million striker out of position
7) Not utilising a 12 million attacking player with possibly the highest potential at the club
8) Spending 8 million of a tight budget on a defensive central midfield player with no potential when other area's needed attentiob.
9) Willing to spend a further 18 million on another defensive CM, when clearly other areas of the team need attention.

Ok ok. I counter you're "acceptable" point with a "we won't win anything whatsoever playing like that". If you think a point is acceptable at Villa, gained without having a shot on target, then maybe you will enjoy this season more than most of us.Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostLet's try actually making some counter-points without dropping in snotty remarks. I and i am sure alot of people on here will agree, However the manner of our play and tactics have been poor at best. It needs sorting out ASAP, I hope Riera will sort the right hand side out. After the first game against Liege i said our performance was just a result of getting back into the swing of thing. Now hoever i feel the problem is deeper than that. With the team we have we should not be counting on Gerrard and Torres to pull us out of a hole sall the time.Originally posted by Gazmo1 View PostDon't get me wrong I'm chuffed that we are unbeaten and at the sharp end. But this kind of form cannot continue for the season as we will be had off. As has already been said the true test will be against United. Maybe a good stuffing United is what Rafa needs to wake him up?
Kuyt was bought as a striker as in holland he was scoring for fun just like RVN and he comes to liverpool and is put out wide where he has no pace and cannot beat his man and has a crap first touch. He needs to go up top with Torres and get back to the reaso why we bought him (Scoring goals).

I agree with your sentiment Nicey, but we could have been more positive and gone for the points rather.Originally posted by Nicey View PostAnybody who thinks Villa away is an easy fixture needs there head checked, it was ugly, it was effective .. top of the Lg unbeaten .. one goal conceded from open play ...

I'm just confused. I'm happy that we are still in it despite playing ****e. I hope this isn't a pattern.Winning an argument on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win you are still a retard!

Another game that shows we should have put our budget on top wide players. We are a team who relies on torres taking his limited chances or something special from gerrad, when the other 3 teams play a team like villa they absolutly dominate them and create loads of chances and villa somehow hang on we either cant create **** all or just hang on.
Rafa has spent 200m and we still arent close to challenging the rest, we are behind more then 3 teams when it comes to quality out wide and it is simply not good enough. Its games like this that made me think certain posters no nothing about football when they claim we didnt need to buy any wingers this summer and barry would be enough,This summer has been a complete waste Rafa has spent another large amount and has not improved the areas that needed most.
