That`s the only post worth reading in this thread right there..Originally posted by El Jefecito View PostNot the best but I though they were quite a few positives out of today's game.
Dossena was really good, was in and out of the game, but I think we had genuine width when he did manage to get involved.
We kept hold of the ball much better than we have so far this season. We we're far more solid and you didn't ever get the impression we would be over-run as we have these last few games.
Did well from set pieces another thing which had been worrying. Also think Arbeloa did pretty well, Ashley Young was a non-issue in the game, am pleased because Arbeloa has been a bit on and off so far this season.
The attacking unit still hasn't clicked and I guess with Torres going off and SG being out that wasn't likely to happen in this game. I was really hoping that Xabi would step up in this game as he had the extra support of Lucas and El Jefecito around him, a pretty solid platform, but alas it was not to be.
Just need to get the forward line working better and I think we'll be doing OK this year. I still think were 5 or so games away from getting into our groove. So I'll not be worrying overly until then.

So many on here are fairweather fans FFS.Grow up.We have a a purple patch every season, thank God it`s happening at the start of the season and hasn`t stopped us becoming joint TOP OF THE LEAGUE
Time to get behind the team and Support LIVERPOOL FC!!!!!!

Comedy gold.I can`t take you seriously when you type ****e like this.Your anti-Rafa,Anti-Liverpool agenda is blinding you so much it`s a joke.Originally posted by Rashid View PostAre we though? Alonso and Mascherano are better than Barry and Reo-Coker but not by much. Their wide players are better than ours too... their best two wide players are the joker Milner and Ashley Young - that's better than anything we have out wide.

Good post.Originally posted by JPK View PostWe are top of the league. It was a battle and we lacked a bit of magic and that is Gerrard. When Cesc is out Arsenal usually suck, Mancs have struggled without Ronaldo and Drogba is a big loss for Chelsea. We are in a great position and although we are playing bad you have to be positive. Rafa made some weird decisions today and personally I think their fullbacks are there for the taking and Babel should have tested them. Andy Gray ripped into us saying Villa have won 1 out of 34 against the big teams their and why were we so tentative. They spent **** loads again and are no pushovers and we wont be the only big team to drop points their this year.
Newcastle never win away at the big teams and took a point at OT this year.
Today was not the worst point when considering other results and when we get a settled front 4 consisting of Gerrard, Babel, Keane and Torres we will start firing.

Rafa Speaks and tells us something none of us thought - we could have won the game apparently:
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez:
"In the first-half both teams had more or less same opportunities and in the second half I thought we started well.
"In the last 15 minutes they were pushing quite a lot. It was a game that we could have won and so could they.
"It is not that we should have finished quicker. I think you have to give credit to the defenders."

4) We are top of the league after three games, ahead of Arsenal and the Mancs and level on points with Chelsea
5) Money wasted? Where? On almost every player that hasn't made it we've recouped the money we spent, or even made a profit, unlike the Houllier days.
Your first post was today, and you are yet to post a single constructive comment on the site. If it looks like a WUM, and smells like a WUM, then that's what I'll call it.

I think i will leave this as the only thing i read about today, Chelsea were ****e today as well, bearing in mind the press and sky would have you believe they are now playing better than Brazil in 1970.

He is so negative it is unreal at times. Fair enough a point at Villa Park is not to be sniffed at but they were there for the taking today as they were **** also.
Not one shot on target, that's absolutely embarrasing.
you dont go to villa looking for a draw
has rafa not learnt anything

He didn't go for a draw. He set his team up to eliminate the Villa threat in the thought that we would get plenty of chances on the conter. We stopped Villa playing and should have nicked the game with Keane through one on one.Originally posted by Rashid View PostIt is a disgrace for any LFC manager to do that against Aston Villa.
Personally I though we should have put Babel on from the start and given them something to worry about. No doubt Rafa thought Milner and Young would be on the flanks from the start and set his team up accordingly.
I had no problem with N'gog coming on - It was striker for striker and people complain when youngsters don't get a chance. But Babel should have come on instead of Aurelio.
I think we may have seen a more attacking team had we not played 120 minutes in mid week, we would have pressured them on the ball far more and forced mistakes. As it was we decided to soak up pressure for fear of tiring too early.Forwards.......

It is a disgrace to do that against any opposition in my opinion, home, away, Europe whatever.Originally posted by Rashid View PostIt is a disgrace for any LFC manager to do that against Aston Villa.Winning an argument on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win you are still a retard!

Are we Grimsby going for a premiership scalp or are we the most successful British Club ever with a front two costing £40m?Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostHe set his team up to eliminate the Villa threat in the thought that we would get plenty of chances on the conter.
Get a grip, he needs to work out how to attack, not stop attacks. Buy a ****ing sword to go with your shield Rafa.
