Guillem Balague believes the winger will make the most of his second spell in the Premier League after claiming City did not take full advantage of the 26-year-old's strengths. "He was not given the opportunity to play in his natural, attacking, position at City," he wrote on his website. "He spent his time there being used as a wing back: his natural position is a winger in a 4-2-3-1 formation."

This may sound silly, but I wouldn't call torres or Keane the kind of players who thrive on balls being whipped into the box? He would be perfect for crouch

Torres and Keane can both head the ball better than Crouch, as he lacks direction and power.

Torres and Keane are both better finishers than Crouch with their feet for low crosses whipped in

          Graham Hunter doesn't rate him.

Here's a shock. Graham Hunter on Sky reckons Riera won't be an amazing signing for us. Geez the guys only been here an hour or so and already someone on Sky Sports is slagging him off!

              Just got this off lfc.tv:

              1. Riera is known as Spain's answer to Middlesbrough's Stewart Downing but when among friends he goes by the nickname of 'Flossy'.

Since when was Stewart Downing the Benchark for English players? What a joke. Welcome to Anfield Flossy - we look forward to you making the left-back position your own

A huge welcome to Albert Reira, our new Right Back. We need cover there after selling Finnan.

A big welcome to the lad, hope he makes a name of himself.

We need a leftwinger badly, so I am very pleased we have signed one. He did very well in the primera last season, hope he finds the same form for us!

Hunter knows his Spanish football to be fair.

With him and Dossena on the left, could be interesting...

Not sure I'd use the word interesting. When I watched Dossena in pre-season I was actually worried that he'd get caught up field a fair bit, he looked more like a winger than a full back. He has obviously been told not to dare go forward unless there are 5 or 6 players covering him. Reira will join the rest of the genuine(ish) wide players on the bench, unless ofcourse he can keep cutting inside and making us really narrow, track back and tackle like a defensive midfielder in which case he'll have a long run of games for us.
