To compete we really need a owner that can get the stadium built and that can buy the club without putting it in further debt.Originally posted by Keep_it_real_LFC View Postguys we really need DIC more then anything now, as ManC have a new owner... But it`s a sad time for football overall IMO. Top, respected clubs becomes "toys" and bragging rights for the worlds elite. It has come to a stage that if you don`t have a mega rich owner you don`t have a chance. Look at the Scum, possibly the best run club in the world (it hurts, but it`s true). Their owner are only rich, not mega rich, one season without CL and all hell could break lose (not that I wouldn`t laugh). I know times changes, but these changes are for the good of football IMO.Blank

Like the credit crunch spanked the city boys (although the general public paid the cost) and like every financial bubble eventually pops - so will Premiership money.
I'd rather Liverpool sat out the money wars for the next few years and watch the implosion that WILL happen in a few years time.
The fans are the key. Refusal to spend money on increasing ticket prices and new satellite channel subscriptions. I've been going to Anfield since 1975 and this year I will only go to a few games. Next season, I might stop all together. It's not that I can't afford it - but because it's not worth the cost. The money ends up in two places, the owners (if they're lucky) and the players pockets.Last edited by RoadEnd; 02-09-08, 09:08 AM.
