    Is Fowler Alive?

    Anybody know?

I don't accept that he can look lively and score 5 goals at the back end of last season and be finished/washed up/spent force within a few months.

I know pre season has always been important for the boy Fowler, and yet again he took a knock which meant he sat several weeks out, but then he started the first game against sheffield. Since then I've not seen hide nor hare of him.

    Is he injured again?

I thought I heard somewhere that he's just started full training again after aggravating an old injury.

    I think!

Reckon he'll figure in the Cup against Reading (or if he's not fit for that, probably a.n.other Cup game soon after).

Yeah, I was wondering about this as well as he has been out of the squad for the last few games.

        Heard he was injured

We have better options now, Thats the only reason Robbie is not in the team, until these options are badly off form or injured, I cant see Robbie getting a look in.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I reckon Robbie would have scored more than Bellamy & Kuyt in the games against Newcastle & Spurs. We are missing lots of opportunties at present. Don't get me wrong I think Kuyt is great, but Robbie is still the best finisher at the club.

He's not injured. Robbie will play mostly in the cup games this season. His main role is in the dressing room and at Melwood for the youngsters.
20-25 apparences and 8-10 goals this season.

I think everybody would be happy if Fowler contributed that for the season.

I taught he'd be fit a raring to go after the summer a working to get fit.

He'll never be the same again we all know that but i'd had hopped he would of made a better impact, but its early in the season.

I wouldn't just be happy - I'd be astonished. The old boy's well past it. I predict about 15 appearances and - if we're really lucky - about 5-6 goals. He'll probably play against Reading when we rest first team players and his overall appearance record depends heavily on how far the stiffs progress in the League Cup. He'll get the odd 15 minutes in the first team when we're winning games and taking one of the main strikers off.

If you think Fowler would have scored more goals than Kuyt against Newcastle and Spurs I suggest you go and lie down in a darkened room! Kuyt is an excellent player a couple of years from his prime. Fowler's prime is many years behind him. Rafa's no fool. He saw enough of Fowler in the games against Sheefield United and Everton to know that he's a passenger in the first team

so how come if he's 'past it' he looked good in the last few months of the season? He's 31 not 41 FFS.

Fowler's been training with the reserves of late.
