Out of all the recent players i think Carra has the best chance to become a manager. There is just something about him that steve has not got. I can see him managing Liverpool one day.

He may have to dig Fergie up first.

Imagine Carragher doing a press conference, it'd have to be subtitled!

Carra's well acknowledged as not only being obsessive about the club, but something of a football academic as well. That'd be posh for anorak like but I can see why he'd be a decent punt as a manager, well ahead of Stevie in the 'thinking' department.

Hopefully that day is well off though and I'd prefer to knock United off their perch while he's still on the field as a player. But we've been saying that a long time now.

Btw he also said he respects Fergie more than anyone in game. No wonder.

Love or hate him Sir Alex Ferguson remains a dominant figure in the world of football.

It’s a direct dig at Ferguson and is paraphrasing something Ferguson said a couple of years ago in an interview for The Guardian (if memory serves).

Something along the lines of ‘my first priority at Manchester United was to knock Liverpool off their ****ing perch.’

I believe in two years time that will be achieved (certainly League titles wise)
                        We come not to play.

                          Wiki says...

"My greatest challenge is not what's happening at the moment, my greatest challenge was knocking Liverpool right off their ****ing perch. And you can print that."

Sir Alex Ferguson responding to Alan Hansen questioning Sir Alex Ferguson's future as Manchester United manager in September 2002 in the Guardian.

                          ___

I actually thought it was a lot longer ago he said that. As for Carra, I didn't think he'd want to become a manager, he always said how he wanted to follow us as a match going fan when he retired.

                              Carra Talks.

Some links here to what Carra has been saying, think it's all in conjunction with his new book release, anyway here's what the fella has had to say.

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher - at one time Everton's biggest fan - can't stand the Toffees now.
