Exactly!!Originally posted by Icon View PostThey hardly showered Reina with attempts either!
I can't believe that people didn't see that one of Coker or Petrov was always playing as a fifth defender and they wouldn't commit all their tall defenders up for set pieces. All this despite Torres and Gerrard not playing. If anything, Villa turned up for the draw and will be mightily relieved they got the point they were desperately seeking.
They can forget top 4 that's for sure. Man City will be so far ahead of them it will be funny. One tit for another.

At least we, as a top 4 aiming side (that sounds awful...), haven't dropped any points at home yet. They have. AND Chelsea and Man U.Last edited by checkpoint; 02-09-08, 05:29 PM.--------------------------------------------------

Aston Villa gunning for Liverpool's top four spot says John Carew
By Mike Walters 2/09/2008
John Carew has branded Liverpool negative, "nothing to be scared of"- and claimed Aston Villa were ready to take their place in the top four.
Carew missed a glorious chance to underline Villa's Champions League potential in Sunday's 0-0 draw against Rafa Benitez's injury-hit side.
"Liverpool put a lot of people behind the ball and were wary of us," said the Norway striker. "It almost looked like they came for a draw.
"The aim is to be in the top four and Liverpool are nothing to be scared of. We shouldn't be scared of having that ambition either. Our squad is stronger and bigger now."
We were playing away, without our two best players. The onus was on Villa to come at us, but i dont recall them creating numerous chances.
They were the home side and didnt really do much threatening.
Carew should spend more time concentrating on his finishing.
