    The unsung hero!

    Steve Finnan aka Mr. Consistency!

He has been absolutely brilliant in the last 2 seasons and he's even better this season. He's one of the best rightbacks in the Premiership IMO and he's allways looking to run forward. He produces great crosses for our strikers (2 crosses for a goal in 7 days) and is never late for defending. I believe he is one of the best men Liverpool has got at the moment!

He never gets praised for his performances (it's allways Gerrard this, Gerrard that...), but he's right at the top!

IMO, this is one of the best signings Gérard Houllier made!

Without question one fo the best performers we have on the pitch. Always very realiable and does little wrong.
Never doubted his ability, Was awesome for Fullham and Ireland before he joined us too, I think one of the few players ever to play in every division in professional football in England. A true professional and should be remembered as a great by the time he retires
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

    * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

No disrespect mate, but I get bored of hearing about these "unsung heroes" comments. These web forums are always full of prasie for him so I don;t see ho he is "unsung"? ....unless of course you mean that the media don't harp on about him all the time - but who cares what they think?

i always rated him even when he struggled a bit in his first year.
having said that, i think he has not quite touched the levels of last season defensively speaking. the jittery start seems to have got to him a bit too.

        he's hardly unsung anymore either

I think that one of the best compliments that can be paid to SF is that we would all love to have a left-sided version of him to fill the LB slot.

We can all pick holes in JAR , Fabio, Warnock but SF is all but perfect(not the tallest or best in the air)

I wish he was 25 so he could occupy the RB position for the next 8+ years

Exactly what I was going to post.

He'll never get huge plaudits in the media because he's *just* a fullback, a bloody good one at that but fullbacks just don't get the plaudits as much as other players.
