Net transfer spending for all PL teams...

    For anyone who's interested...
1.) Man City £63.1 million net spent
2.) Aston Villa £39.9 million net spent
3.) Sunderland £27.16 million net spent
4.) Manure £22 million net spent
5.) Stoke £20.8 million net spent
6.) LFC £19.05 million net spent
7.) Fulham £15.68 million net spent
8.) Bolton £13 million net spent
9.) West Brom £9.35 million net spent
10.) Hull £7.75 million net spent
11.) Neverton £6.5 million net spent
12.) Wigan £5.1 million net spent
13.) Newcastle £4.15 million net spent
14.) Arsenal £2.95 million net spent
15.) Middlesborough £1.7 million net spent
16.) Chelski £1.2 million net profit
17.) Portsmouth £1.2 million net profit
18.) Blackburn £8 million net profit
19.) Spurs £12.07 million net profit
20.) West Ham £12.6 million net profit

Just shows how useless our Yanks are - I'm not saying we should be spending what Man City have spent but we needed more improvements to our squad than was actually made. Also amazing to see the spending power of both Stoke & Sunderland. On the other hand the usual big spenders Newcastle haven't done much in the transfer market & surprisingly neither have Arsenal considering they lost Flamini for free who they haven't really replaced. And it seems Abramabitch is slowing down on transfer spending for now...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

Villa? £39.9 Mill? Take Robhino off Citeh's and Villa were biggest net spenders?

I think the Chavs were banking on a big money move for Robhino but that went to poy.
Funny how Spurs seem to have banked loads, but ended up getting ****ed over the berbatov deal and had no time to sign to properly added to the front line (apart from the Russian-I dont think Campbell was what they were really after anyway)

Yeah, but if we count him we have to count whatever signings the others made in january and us as well.
            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Sunderland have obiously decided to spend big in a risky move to stay up. We'll see. I suspect they'll go down and be poor for years.

Villa figures surprise me. Having finished 6th? last year they've gone out on a limb there to close the gap on CL places.

Could it backfire in MON's face. I cant see how they've improved enough given that net £39.9 Mill spend?

It's a lot of money with little to show for it. Can see them having a good run, but not for a whole season.

I assume this doesn't take on board prize money? if so we could argue the Yanks have spent bugger all?
                    We come not to play.

I think we've spent about £36m since Jan, not including sales, but I'm sure we had a few undisclosed's as well.

I have to say, I had though that the Chavs were going to go on a spending spree this season.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

I would assume that net transfer spend doesn't include proze money, no.

We signed him in March/April. Fact is it has to be counted and IMO it affects our budget this summer. In fact I would argue that it does with some vigour.

Rafa has spent about 80M GBP nett I think. He has earnt through the CL about the same if not more. Our problem is that the extra 25-30M GBP we get for the league with the new TV deal pays the interest on the loan the Yanks took to buy us.

That 25M would buy a good winger.

EDIT: It would buy another good one next year too
