Rubbish. You make it sound as if it's a new phenomenon, when it's always happened. Lots of people have soft spots for other clubs for a variety of reasons. Maybe a family member played for a team. Maybe they went to watch another team locally when they were a kid because it was cheaper/nearer/easier for their dad to get tickets. Maybe they've moved to an area for work and go and watch the local side rather than travelling back to Anfield every other week.

It's not about not supporting Liverpool, just having another team that you like to see do well for whatever reason. No-one would ever hope that their other team beat us, or finished higher than us.

The Taffys always say I support Wales and whoever is playing England. The ****s, but change Wales for Liverpool and England for Man Utd and thats it.

Stevenage Boro, they may make the Prem some day (although frankly that seems very very unlikely)!

                PL: Liverpool and only Liverpool.

I do have a 2nd English team, because it's where I grew up but they're in the Championship and they would be

                /dons flameproof suit

                Barnsley.

In my defence but I don't follow them that closely, just keep an occasional eye on how they're doing.

My 'other team' is Brentwood. I used to live next door to Kevin O'Connor (Irish U-21 player) and I went to school with Lloyd Owusu!

Whilst I can appreciate the football that Arsenal play, I always have a wry smile when they lose. The press continue to kiss their arses regardless and Wenger does have some great excuses.

The only side I have any affection for, aside from the Reds, is Dagenham & Redbridge. Was brought up around there and always look for their results. I'm really pleased for them, how they are performing the past couple of years.

Loads of Reds and Blues used to watch Trannie Rovers when they played on Friday nights. Nothing wrong with keeping an eye on them IMO.

                        FFS!!

You can't have a second team in the same league!!

As for those who voted for the BS or the Scum don't even get me started
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

A total of 12.2 per cent who took part selected the Magpies as their next favourite team in the Barclays Premier League.

Arsenal were close behind with 12 per cent, followed by Tottenham with 10 per cent.

The least picked side was Bolton, with Middlesbrough, West Brom, Stoke and Wigan also struggling.

Now this tells me that some people have United and the Bitters as their second teams.
How can people have a "second team" if they support a particular club? I'm a Liverpool supporter and couldn't gve a flying one about any other club. Maybe those giving opinions really meant who they disliked least rather than who they positively liked? That would make more sense. Speaking for myself, I can't stand Newcastle, but they're marginally less unspeakable than clubs like Arsenal and Spurs and considerably less unspeakable than Man U, Chelsea and Everton
