wenger's won the league - he can whinge from a position of success. how can you complain about it being harder to compete when you've never competed?

hey ho not gonna get into another rafa slating session today, justify it however u all like our manager coming out with that this early in a season.

i think rafa's under pressure and he knows it.

unless we put up a decent showing in the league and win the CL he will be gone next season and although i understand other teams have spent more money than us this season it doesnt explain why we are playing so **** and he's constantly bitching in the press.

If DIC do buy us im not sure they would be willing to give rafa a £60m+ budget to spend either.

Its not working for rafa and to make excuses this early is ridiculous.

I completely agree. Rafa seems to be suggesting that it is financial constraints that are the reason behind the poor results and football which is nonsense. Which billion pound driven super teams have we struggled against so far this year? Oh yeah, none.

Is he saying that without extra investment this is the best he can get his team to play?

He doesn't constantly bitch to the press. He is a realist and replies to questions with a great deal more honesty than most of his counterparts. I like that.

DIC will not buy us, infact I doubt they even play a part anymore. It's Dubai now, DIC are an investment company and even I know LFC are not a good investment financially.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

might be about to get worse...

Indian billionaire revives interest in Newcastle - and could hire Kevin Keegan

Ambani will appeal to Newcastle fans, who crave serious investment in the team come January. The world’s sixth-richest man boasts a fortune of £21 billion and it is understood that Keegan, should he be persuaded to return for a third term as manager at St James’ Park, would be handed at least £100 million to strengthen the squad in the new year.

I'd accept that if Rafa hadn't won more with Houllier's "duds" than he has with his own collection of superstars.

Rafa has spent loads on players mainly buying players of the same ability of the players he has sold for less.

when i say DIC i mean the sheikh - i realise that people will not make any money from football and to think otherwise is folly.

the possible returns from investment into LFC would not meet DIC's minimum requirements for any ROI.

LFC will be a showpiece for dubai - the jewell in the dubai crown.

Think they'll only buy is when we're down and out at a knockdown price. I think they'll not be rushing any more as a result of the Man City takeover. Us missing out on Champions League, struggling on the pitch and the Yanks getting no return lowers the price and increases the desperation of the Americans to sell. Things are going to get much worse before they come in again for us

                        Just my opinion

For the sake of a couple of hundred million (to these guys) that doesn't seem to make sense.

it wouldnt surprise me if they let us go the wall and then try and buy us back from wachovia and RBS.

I think it will get worse before it gets better and a season or two without champions league football may be on the horizon.

The continued ownership by the americans would be disastrous for our club.

They arent going to waste a couple hundred million when in a year or so at this rate we'll be ****ed

We've only got to miss out on the top 4 at the end of the season and we're probably £30m down and that's probably our income for a year

I dont disagree with what rafa has said in the most part, it certainly is difficult and getting more so.

But he doesnt help himself with his strange formations, players out of position, odd subs and slow, pedestrian football style.

His job is very difficult and he himself makes it more difficult than it already is.
