We finished the season so well, playing good football. The team looked settled and if we could add that one or two players this season would see us have a good go.
Then the transfer window opens up and our main target is Barry. A lot of people argued a good case for him, but no one would have put him on a list at the end of last season. Then we get Keane, a great player who I think will do well, but it kind of ****s with what we were doing last season. We then start the season playing complete ****e boring, negative football and the feeling amongst some is, here we go again.
This is what I'm pissed off with, I really thought Rafa was happy with the system as it was what he did at Valencia and we actually played nice stuff and created good chances, even scored a fair amount of goals. Why change it?
We will see now when everyone is back and Reira has signed how we will play.
I'm going to forget the last 5 games and see how we play from now.

Lately I've been extraordinarily happy, oh joy, almost to the point where I was getting slightly worried.... Good to know I have threads like this to bring me down again. Usually I just need a quick look at the thread title, but today I actually had to open the thread and look at a few of the posts.
Some so called fans need to take a good look in the mirror.
Support the team, support the manager! We can disagree with a lot of things being done, and everyone is allowed to express their opinion, but this witch-hunt is a bit much.
IMO
Thanks.

well said. although by the sounds of things riera will play left of a 4231 and alternate with babel.Originally posted by lfc1394 View PostWe finished the season so well, playing good football. its the right that i find confusing, kuyt ain't good enough and possibly gerrard will be shifted there. just hope keane does as well playing off torres as gerrard did last year. my problem with gerrard on the right is that he'll come looking for the ball and we'll lose our shape, he is kinda wasted on the right. i'd love to see a 4231 with gerrard next to masch and someone with real quality brought in for the right.

His record with and without Henk Ten Cate speaks volumes. Ten Cate leaves and the team with Messi, Etoo, Ronaldinho, Iniesta, Xavi has to qualify for the CL. Yeah, I'd put my money on him tooOriginally posted by Rashid View PostI'd expect him to "challenge" for the league in his 2nd season - he didn't take long to transform Barcelona a team that hadn't won anything in 5 years and were in the Uefa Cup with Houllier's Liverpool! This 5 years to challenge is a ridiculous underachievement.

You and others have basically lost the plot. Do you realise how pityfull you have become Benitez is amongst a handfull of top managers in the world. Ask anyone with some basic footballing knowlegde and they will back this up.Originally posted by Sarb24 View Post

You spend all your time trying to undermine hime and you want to replace him with lesser mortals, whilst this continues I will reply.
If you want to put negativity to some use, direct towards Moores, Hicks and Gillett

By the same token Rafa has won nothing since Pako left, what does that tell you? I am not saying it is significant but if you are saying one thing for Rijkaard then the same applies to Rafa, no?Originally posted by El Jefecito View PostHis record with and without Henk Ten Cate speaks volumes. The stupid thing is that the Rafa bashers on here claim we never play good football under him
Load of bollocks. At the start of any season it takes time to get going and thats a fact. None of the top teams are playing well at the moment yet we are sitting top of the league
Since the 1st leg against Inter Milan at anfield last season which was Feb 19 if i recall, we played some very good attacking football and had great form compared to our rivals. We scored a fantastic amount of goals and confortably walked over teams. I enjoyed many good games towards the end of last season and i believe that this season we will improve further and further
