i hope it gets better but i have seen nothing in our play in the 5 games so far that shows we are capable of competing, again this is not the case with chelsea, arsenal and whilst utd haven't played well they are champions and no one would write them off this early.
    I just don't get it I really don't.

Without wanting to sound like I'm repeating myself - WE'VE PLAYED 3 LEAGUE GAMES WON 2 DREW 1 AND ARE 2nd IN THE LEAGUE.

Rafa has never mentioned a 5 year plan houllier did, Rafa has already stated Keane on the left didn't work we now have a left winger can we not see how it pans out over the next couple of months before the RCDNR brigade start having a pop.

Plus when was the last time we were beaten in the league? We've been the most consistant team this year (not season year - 2008).

      Ok then, how about

      "start of the season."

I just can't give up and be all negative when we still so much to hope for at this point.

We've more important matters to sort out first mate, although I think you're talking out of your back bottom.

But, each to their own. As I've said elsewhere, our efforts ought to be directed at getting rid of **** & ****ter first, before internal squabblings of the infirm.

I'm with you there mate, i really am. I'm very hopeful too, it's the best time of the season for that, no dreams have been dashed and everything's still rosy.

I just want to make sure the same mistakes and errors arent repeated so that maybe, this time, we will have a serious challenge and it can bring further optimism for the future.

That is what we are all after fella.

I'm confident we will do it I really am and I get frustrated when fans write us off before we have even started.

we've played 5 competitive games not 3. we're not going to agree on this. in the 5 we've played so far our results were more to do with luck than tactics imo. you have a different point of view. i don't go for the most successful team in 2008 thats nonsense. we won no trophies in 2008. how do you measure success? off games won? shots on target? possession of the ball? there's only one way to measure success and that is by looking at the trophy cabinet.

i don't think we can get rid of the yanks, all this chanting and boycotting won't make any difference, they'll only leave once they made the profit margins they deem acceptable. To me there is nothing more important than the performance on the pitch.

Well chanting and boycotting is far more pro-active than making negative posts on an internet forum

fair dos. bottom line still is we'll either be competitors by xmas or rafa's job will be on the line. do you think the scenario i present is probable?

Yes of course I do but I'm very hopeful we'll be in the mix by crimbo. If we are 10 points behind and in 4th questions do and will need to be asked but at the min even though I agree we've played poorly we are unbeaten so for now this discussion should be redundant.

rafa's clearly made mistakes with signings, line ups, tactics and still does to this very day. i won't deny any of it.
the question is though, if the board were to replace rafa who would they replace him with? is there someone who would have the same clear vision and long term strategy for the club in terms of youth development? someone who clearly seems to understand the history and legacy of the club as well as love and respect for the supporters as well as the city?
wouldn't a hiddink to name just one be a short term fix, paper over the cracks rather than what we need? it's everyone to decide i reckon with no rights or wrongs...

Since when have I said anything pro-Rafa or made any kind of defence regarding him? You are foolishly assuming that simply by objecting to your constant negative posting I must automaticaly fall in to the category of 'pro-Rafa'. You couldn't be more wrong but I'll keep my views of Rafa to myself for the time being.

My only beef is that a site I have enjoyed in the past is in danger of becoming stagnated by a few posters who repeatedly drag threads down with constant negative, snidey comments which seeming serve no purpose other than to 'bait' other posters into the same old repetive arguments which ultimately makes this place a poorer place to visit.

I have no idea what the true motive is behind your negativity is, perhaps you actualy think you can make a difference by taking this stance, perhaps you just like the attention, I don't know or really care.

Like so many others on here, I'm just sick of it.
