Spirit Of Shankly – March on Saturday

Spirit Of Shankly – March on Saturday

Saturday is a massive day for us. We are playing one of our biggest rivals, a team who are one behind us in league titles. A team who are European Champions. And a team that we love to beat. Much of the talk at the moment, however, is about what's going on off the pitch – what Hicks and Gillett are up to, the stadium and the club's finances.

The world's media will be watching. So let's make ourselves heard on a march from the Liverpool Supporters' Club, Lower Breck Road, up to Anfield. Let's remind everyone what we want – Hicks and Gillett, out of OUR club.

Let's make sure they get the message. Bring yourself, your mates, anyone who wants Hicks and Gillett out should be there. Bring your banners and bring your voices. A passionate mob, directing their anger towards those ruining our football club.

What we need on Saturday is two resounding victories. Firstly, a march on a massive scale that tells the world that Liverpool has had enough of Gillett and Hicks. A march of passion, a march of anger, a march of Red Solidarity that roars its message loud and proud: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! GO NOW!

This is the biggest club game in football and the world will be watching. Our second victory on Saturday comes when we take all that passion and pride inside the ground and take the roof off in a way no Manc has ever seen or heard. They have 76,000 spectators. We've got 40,000 warriors. All together on Saturday - everybody. Every last one of us turn up at Liverpool Supporters Club on Saturday morning for a show of strength that can change our club's destiny.

Liverpool Supporters Club. Saturday, 11am. See you there!

    Spirit Of Shankly.

It has to be at least 10,000 with leaflets given out up to 3 hours before the game - the last one was feable.

Absolutely. I hope this gets some media coverage as well, though I doubt the anti-Liverpool Sky b******s will choose to ignore it.

it's not the timne to be staging protests on the day of the biggest game of the year. all focus ( players, fans, media etc..... ) should be soley on matters on the pitch. i agree the protests should take place but NEVER on a match day. it distracts everyone from the real objectives.

I don't question their intentions as much as their timing, this is too big a game to concentrate on anything other than beating United.

Rubbish. I don't think such action takes the players' focus off the matter in hand. When is a good time to do it? When nobody is watching?

well the whole team admitted that last years off field activites affected their performances so i think more protests will do the same. a well timed protests / march on another day other than match day with media coverage solely on the protesters would do more good.

                  Exactly.

I for one am more than happy to sacrifice another season of indiffernce on the pitch if it means getting rid of G&H - protests like the one planned on Saturday can only remind these scumbags they are not wanted at the club. Lets force them out I say.

okay, so manure win the title, chelski finish 2nd, the arse 3rd and citeh 4th. we struggle for 5th, dont win nothing this year, no qualification for the CL and prob lose torres, masher, gerard etc... but you'd accept that so long as it meant G&H are gone? I am an LFC fan. **** the owners, **** the protests, lets just concentrate on matters on the pitch. I'd happily keep G&H if it meant getting top 3 in the league this year.

You know what, I would. But I know that would not happen - if we were struggling it might even force G&H to consider their options sooner.

I view the long term future of the club just as important as what is happening right now. You can turn a blind eye to G&H whilst they shaft this club and burden us with crippling and unmanageable debts, I (and many others thankfully) cannot. Sooner they are out the better, both on and off the pitch.

Keep the protests going, don't relent until they are gone, thats what I say. If the players love the shirt they will not let it affect them.

Saturday's game won't matter if in a year we're out of business because of Hicks and Gillett

i see what they are doing to the club and i dont like it. i want them out make no mistake. i just dont like the protesting and the fact that many fans seeem to want to protest more than supporting the team. the fans who called for boycotting matches till G&H are gone for instance. the whole world can see they are ****ing our club. it's just that i know the protests will make no difference to G&H and what they do with our club. It wouldn't bother me if i were the owner so i doubt it'll bother them. if people want to protest then by all means go ahead and do it. but i'd prefer it if they did it on a more acceptable day.

We may as well not do anything then
