I'm sure Carra had some say on release dates etc and lets face it he is at the tail end of his career and so could have waited until his playing career with Liverpool was over.

Also, he's a big enough name and character in the game to ensure sales even 1 or 2 years after he's finished playing, using Ray Houghton as an example doesn't exactly work for me.

It's the cold commercial reality I'm afraid.

The publishers want maximum impact.

i've only read the few parts which have been serialised so far and i've to say they're just as boring and dare i say pathetic as any other footballer's book i've read.
a couple of years ago he said he doesn't see the point in releasing a biography while your playing carreer isn't finished... honest he might be but he still come across a bit of a knob. self-adulation does my head in anyway...
