    Maradonna......Mascherano is more important than messi

    Football legend Diego Maradona had special praise for Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano.

    Mascherano is much more important to Argentina than Lionel Messi or Juan Riquelme, according to the Maradona.

    Speaking before the game in Lima, Maradona said, “Mascherano is much more important than that Messi and Riquelme,” he said.

              Yup it's deffo been said either by Maradona or someone else. I think it came up when Masch and Tevez moved to England and Masch was referred to as potentially the more important player of the two.

                          That's stating the obvious really. Mascherano played every minute of Argentina's games in the last World Cup, while Tevez was as often as not a sub. Tevez gets disproportionate praise in this country purely and simple because he plays for media darlings Man U. In Argentina Mascherano is held in much higher esteem
