    Ryan Babel

    Start him. Every game.

He's an explosive, dynamic, wonderfully talented individual and with the right coaching and man management should become a world class footballer.

I love his tricks and flicks, I love his his pace and power. When he gets hold of the ball you just sense *something* is going to happen.

Above everything else he can score and create goals. He's a genuine match winner.

    PLAY HIM RAFA.

love the man - he has to be ready to start now
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Dirk Kuyt was the man of the match not Babel. Thank you.

I don't mean to be an ass but kuyt was diabolical, miss-controlling most things and over and under passing...

This thread is about Ryan lads, not Kuyt.

              Where should he play?
Riera had a good game and deserves more chances at LW. Torres has to play when fit.
So that leaves either Keane or Kuyt out. I don`t think Keane will be dropped just yet and Kuyt deserves to play. Kuyt might not be worlds most gifted player, but he keeps on being involved in important goals for us.
Personally I`d like to see Babel instead of Keane, but I`m not sure he`ll fit in with Torres.

Although Kuyt did alright, he missed 2 absolute sitters from 3 yards out on both occasions. At least he made contact with the ball though unlike Keane who had 2 air shots.

Babel is the best striking option out of those 3 for me. 1 shot 1 goal type of player he is IMO.

I'd like to see Riera and Babel out wide, for me Kuyt played better when he was up front today than when he was out wide
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We won today's game without starting him so you could say it was the correct decision. His sub appearance today is not necessarily indicative of every appearance he makes from a starting spot.

I agree that he's a massive talent but I think he still needs to be brought through and is not ready for 90 minutes week in week out.

Positive problem to have. At the moment I quite like the idea of him coming from the bench to terrorize tiring defences.

I like the role he's doing for us at the moment. Wouldn't mind seeing him start up front a few games, if Keane continues to struggle.

7 of his 10 goals last season as a sub. Now todays. I can see why Rafa likes using him as an impact player in the second half, for now at least. He's yet to really be as consistently dangerous when played from the start, and keeps having to come off after an hour. I think he will be a first choice starter sooner rather than later though.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.

                          Mine angry and defrauded young?

Surely the only way he can become "consistently dangerous" from the start is if Rafa gives him four or five games on the spin in the starting eleven ?

He's far, far too good to be sitting on the bench. He's already proven that.

I think it would be wrong to label him merely an impact player so early in his career.

This time next week I'd love to see him start against Stoke.

I'd play Babel ahead of Kuyt all day long.

I'd go back to the 4-2-3-1 formation dropping Keane and Kuyt; then play Riera, Gerrard and Babel behind Torres.
