Today it's Rafa. Sam loves Crouch and hates playing against him, so Rafa don't start him? Gerrard on the left? Pennant not performing so takes him off to play Garcia on the right? Zenden (a leftie) comes on for Momo, and still leaves Gerrard on the left?
It has to be said, that in this game and the everton game we've had no luck whatsover with some atrocious ref decisions that have led to goals against. I've also never seen us hit the post so many times.
Of our 4 away games 3 have been really, really tough. To meet chelski, everton and bolton away right at the beginning of the season, before our new faces are bedded in was always going to be really tough.
their first goal came when we were on top and was down purely to poor officiating.
the second goal was one of those annoying sucker punches
but we have not done enough to get back into it and probaly wouldn't score if we played all day
****ing pissed off no end

Considering how well Bolton defend I think we've been OK overall.
Once you've had a goal gifted against you by the officials its a big ask to win away at Bolton -doubt any of the rest of the top four would manage.
Look we get our fair share of dodgy decisions. It balances out over a season. No point in hiding behind this. That doesn't explain why we cannot score?
1 point from 12 away from home in our first 4 away matches this year, and only 1 goal, a Fowler goal at that, too many changes for the away matches so players not knowing what the plan is or not knowing who is playing and how they play, therefore is tinkering not the right option for away matches, home matches obviously can be and are a different matter, but away matches could be a more settled side when you need to defend a bit more.

the only thing i dont understand is....WHY NO Agger for this game???? With him we have played so much more confidently at the back!
What the hell is Rafa thinking on this.

So why not employ the same team for each of those 4 away matches, to the rest of us, and the footballing world in general, that would have made sense.

We're giving the ball away way too much. Either they are pressing us and marking close, or our passing is ****e. Alonso is not finding any passes atm.
