Lightweight. So he was pushed off of the ball a couple of times when he first got here and that's all we've heard ever since. Watch recent games, see if there are facts which change your cast-iron opinion. He is no more lightweight than Anderson. The only time he was brushed off the ball against Villa he was awarded a foul. Check out the horn and halo effect, there are a few on here that suffer because of it.

Is that the extent of your erudite analysis.

Do you want to comment on his game intelligence, his ability to play in CM and maintain the shape without create holes all over the place that the opposition can exploit (like when SG plays there).

Do you want to comment on his ability to control the tempo of the game and wait for the right time to make the match winning move (like against Everton).

Do you want to comment on the quick incisive one-twos which led to countless goals last season?

To say that Plessis is better, well let's just say, that doesn't encourage me to think you've put much thought into this.

A far more convincing case than you've been able to muster.

If he is a "box to box" midfielder, he's not doing a very good job in one of the boxes.

Here is the format on how a player gets the award from the best sporting magazine in brazil.

Bola de Prata is an annual award given by Placar to the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A best players from each position. Each player is given a rating after every match they play. The players with highest average rating from each position are awarded the Bola de Prata. The player with highest average rating overall is awarded the Bola de Ouro.

I'm sure you can find something sacastic to come back with

El Jef, I have put thought into my answer and i stand by it. Lucas offers nothing to the team IMO.

Explain your line of thinking then. All I've seen is lightweight.

I believe he is a brighter prospect than Lucas, thats just my opinion.

He keeps hold of the ball and creates space, also the lad can defend.

I think the guy mentioned earlier that he had been playing DM. No?

And your stats are WRONG. I know of at least 10 career goals. He's scored more than 4 goals for Gremio alone.

If you are going to use facts to beat down a Liverpool player at least use real facts, not made up ****.

Lucas does that too. And he can spread the play, make assists, play one-twos. None of which Plessis has yet demonstrated yet (apart from spreading the play, which TBF he does quite well in the reserves games).

I'm not beating on Plessis as I think he will be class in a deeper more defensively oriented role. But he is nowhere near as far along as Lucas in his development.

Have to say Lucas has scored more than four goals for Gremio alone.

Lucas cannot defend though, i know he is not meant to play in DM but he loses the ball more than Plessis.

It was 5 and he has scored 4 for Brazil under 20's

I've not noticed that. What game are you thinking of?
