Off hand against Boro, Benni had 65 minutes and Babel the rest swapping positions with Kuyt and they had about 4 touches between them all game. Kuyt and Xabi were the only ones looking for the ball and actually trying to pass.

Nah, not sarcastic. Whenever Benni first signed for us, the abuse he got from most was uncalled for and it reminded a lot of Smicer. I honestly thought he’d be a great signing and even before the season started had a dream he’d score the winner for us in the CL final. Because he played in a similar position and was mostly undervalued like Smicer, I pinned my hopes on him proving everyone wrong on the biggest stage possible and becoming my new hero for securing number 6.

Still haven’t given up though…
