I don’t think Torres will be risked.

    I reckon:

    Reina

    Arbeloa
    Carra
Agger (Skrtel rested, to return to deal with Stoke’s long throws)
    Dossena

    Mascherano
    Alonso

    Kuyt
    Gerrard
    Riera

    Keane
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

      I'd go for:

      Reina

      Arbeloa, Carra, Agger, Dossena

      Babel, Mascherano, Lucas, Riera

      Gerrard

      Keane

Subs: Torres, Skrtel, Degen, Kuyt, Benayoun, Alonso, Cavalieri.

We need a good start in the CL.

Regarding Pennant: He does not deserve to be in our squad. He knew he had no chance of playing and settled for picking up his handy money. He deserves to be sold because he never did enough for us. Rafa should instruct Javier to have a word with him.
that's my team with second half appearances by agger, riera and ngog

Two, he would have picked up a hefty signing on fee from his new club. Three, any bonuses that he is not collecting now as he is not playing he could be picking up at his new club.

He chose to stay and fight. We don't know how hard he is working behind the scenes to impress Rafa. But obviously, he felt he still had a point to prove, so fair play to him for that. He could have taken the easy way out, gone to a smaller club and been a big fish, but he chose to stay and people are slating him for it!
No I dont know but since you know, tell me how much is he on here and how much would he have got? I think personally that he was too proud to move to a relegation threatened team and was content to sit he because he knows we will challenge on all fronts this year. He was giving out about McLaren not picking not so long ago and now he is happy to not make even the 17.
It shows his ambition. Took Rafa a while but he finally realised what JP is about.

Instead of reading just the first line, read a bit further...he never asked for a transfer, therefore he would be entitled to his full salary here, whatever that may be...so if he moved to a club that offered him less, we would have to pay the difference for the duration that his contract with us was for.

Add to that, his new club would give him a signing on fee...

And he'd probably be getting extra bonuses for playing (ie win bonuses, goals etc)...

then by staying here and fighting for his place, he has actually put himself out of pocket. You may not like him as a player, but that doesn't mean he's wrong to fight for a spot in the team.

I can't see much of a change from the weekend to be honest, possibly Kuyt dropping back to the right wing again at the expense of Benny and Gerrard playing in behind Keane.

I've a feeling Keane will be rested but hopefully he plays from the start.

                        He's going to score soon.

Ya but he was told he had no future here and to find a new club before the last game of the season at home. Now he cant even make a squad so he should have known his time is up. He can fight for his place all he wants and it wont make a difference I think. Rafa is stubborn and has made a decision.

He should have moved on and tried to get his career back on track

Thats fair enough but I really dont think he is a money grabber, maybe he has more faith in his ability to win his place back than you do. If he still hasnt moved on by the next summer/ or maybe January due to not getting his place back or some games then I would start to worry about him.
