It doesn't matter where the players have been signed from, sometimes it takes a while to fit into the team. Look at Finnan in his first season, everybody wanted him out, now he is arguably the best RB in England.

Pennant does offer us width, but I feel he would be far more effective in a midfield 5; in much the same way SG would be. I know there has been a lot of argument about Gerrard's best position, but for me it is on the right in a 4 4 2; and in the middle when we play 4 5 1 or 5 3 2.

My main problem with Pennant is that he doesn't tackle at all; even Luis gets stuck in every now and again. If that can't be sorted out, I fear he won't last too long at LFC.

Bellamy I feel will come good, but he has to get used to playing in a team as opposed to a team playing around him.

Rafa has signed two excellent players in Bellamy & Pennant. OK so neither have set the world alight yet but it'll come, Bellamy just needs that first bit of luck all strikers need, just ask Crouch. And when a team isn't firing the wing is the worst place to be. I've watched Pennant at the Arse and Watford and he looks a first class winger, last one that good from Watford... Barnes.

Scoring apart, the weakest part of the team at the moment is the defence.
maybe the "best player" should be stuck in front of the back four to break up attacks aka Hamaan.

Yet our 4 best players this season have been defensive in Agger, Riise and finnan and sissoko.
