Stoke at Home is a bannana skin .. lets just bag the 3 points shall we .. I would prefere to spank Chelsea at the Bridge to be honest ... Proper Proper do a ****ing number on them .. Stoke at home I will take a composed win
It was a reply to friedk, who said we need a big win due to to next matches and the Scum-Chelski game.
I agree that we should go out and try to batter them, but what we need is a win. Stoke will probably dig in and go for goals from set-pieces etc.
what happends on here, and at Anfield if the reports are anything to go by, is that if we haven`t scored in the first 15 min people are getting negative and demand that we crush them.

Was that Boavista game on September 11th (or day after)?
I was at that one. Very weird atmosphere that night and lots of empty seats.
I was over from Aust for that one also. I thought the match was going to be called off & in fact the CL games the next day were called off if I remember correctly.
I guess we do on this one.
Most football crowds has a tendency to turn on their team if a big win is expected, and nothing happends the first quarter. I know Anfield is special, but the same thing probably happends there. (I don`t get to Anfield myself so this based on what I`ve heard/read, people that do regulary might have different and more correct opinions)
I just never expect a battering in any top flight matches anymore, but I do expect a win in this one.

that said - it depends what happens on the pitch - eg if it's 0-0 at half time and the team has been ****e, players can't be arsed, no interest, no chances created and it's just ****ing dire - then they will get booed off.
on the flip side - if we went in 1-0 down to stoke, but it was a stuffy goal and other than that we had played brilliant football and showed loads of passion and attacking flair, but had hit the post 16 times, had 3 stonewall penalties denied, and their keeper had pulled of 14 wonder saves - then I doubt we would boo - we would encouraging for off the same
it comes down to the players attitudes and commitment - one of the strangest experiences yet at the same time proudest moments for me being a liverpool fan was ****ing years ago - was it the cup winners cup quarter final against PSG? - we were ****ing dire in the first leg and lost 3-0 - it was a disgrace. I went the 2nd leg at Anfield, we played out of skin, we battered them, the players did everything they could to win - we did 2-0 but still went out on goal difference. The whole ground stood and cheered and clapped the players off, you never walk alone was sung etc etc despite the fact we had been knocked out. I remember thinking at the time - ****ing hell we must be the only fans in the world to cheer our team even when being knocked out of competition despite giving everything we could in the 2nd leg.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
Best team every game i say. When were 12 points clear,we can rest. Now is not a time to rest players.I did say rest Kuyt in my original post in this thread because i thought drop may sound a bit harsh as he has been playing well.

'Football is a simple game based on the giving and taking of passes, of controlling the ball and of making yourself available to receive a pass. It is terribly simple.'
Stoke City are a very Physical team so Rafa will need to think about that. Carragher could be key with his organizational skills. Delap will hammer in those throw ins and it would not in my opinion be the kind of game to bring in Degen for Arbeloa and Agger in for Carra.
It would be nothing short of a disaster if we fail to beat them. Lets put out a strong line up, win the game and then take players of as soon as we are safe. Then we can rest the lot against Crewe, this is the game where Sami, Agger and Degen can get a bit of fitness.
Hopefully after that we'll be ready for a big game against Everton.
Fair enough ... I think we probably do need to rest some players though, 2 International games followed by Manchester United, followed by an Away Champions Lg game will take its toll, I am thinking Masher and Kuyt need a rest for sure Stevie perhaps give him 60 minutes as with Torres
