    Lucas??

    What does everyone think about Lucas? He had a bad game tonight, I know its only one game, but its got me thinking. I was expecting big things from him when he arrived but I don't think he's really delivered yet.

    How do you think he compares to Anderson?

    Lucas is awful.

    I'll buy everyone on this site a pint if the lad makes over 100 appearances for Liverpool.

        Hard to say how he compares to Anderson and to be honest I couldn't give a **** about Anderson. For what it's worth I think people are going way OTT about him. He's obviously got talent but he goes missing oh so often. He also couldn't score in a brothel and hasn't scored a single goal for them despite being a very attacking midfielder.

        Lucas is a talented player but we're not utilising him to the best of his abilities IMO. Too easily bullied and knocked off the ball, he's not the man for a scrap in the middle of the park.

          I genuinely haven't seen any evidence whatsover to support this statement.

            I think he's a talented player, he won the brazilian player of the year in 2006. The two winners before him were Tevez and Robinho...

            I think he's looked good, but i've never seen him play a great pass like the ones we seen from Alonso, or score a great goal like gerrard.

            Rafa obviously sees something in him, but he needs to up his game

                My granny is harder to push off the ball than Lucas...sorry for being negative but he is lightweight in too many ways !!

                  Was he not playing for a Corinthians though? I.E. It was the league player of the year, rather than having to be Brazilian?

                    He's still only very young at the end of the day. I can't see how on earth he won the Brazilian player of the year though from what we've seen of him so far. If you look at Anderson at Utd his performances have been a lot better than Lucas' have.

                    There must be something there or Rafa wouldn't have bought him and persisted with him.

                    I've seen nothing great from him yet, he looks slow and laboured and his touch isn't great neither is his tackling, there doesn't appear to be no real skill from him either considering where he's from. There must be something there or Rafa wouldn't have bought him. Maybe he just needs to score a beauty and all of his powers will be unleashed, could be that type of player.

                    He also needs to sort his ****ing hair out aswell. ****ing mess it is. I reckon if he shaves it all off and has a meathead like the old Leeds team did then we'll see the real Lucas Leiva.

                      He has talent, give him a chance FFS. He showed glimpses of his talent last season and i felt he was our best performer in pre-season too. Shame the Olympics disrupted him but i believe he will win over the doubters.

                      Lucas will be a good player for us. I'll stand by that

                        He was poor tonight, and really needs to improve if he's going to make any sort of impression at the club.

                        I'm not totally sure that his best position is the one he played tonight, as has been said, he looks a bit lightweight to playing the holding role. I think he's better employed further up the field, he can spot a pass and has appeared in some good positions for us (Everton immediately springs to mind).

                        Don't think he's going to make it tho, AA I reckon your bet is safe

                          Great result. Thought Lucas and Benny were pants though. Benny falls in the same category. Both lose the ball too much and are too lightweight. They don't really add much and Alonso is miles ahead of Lucas atm.

                            Anderson is a very good player and could become scum's next big thing. Lucas has also done well for us, not brililant yet, but well. Both missed preseason and went off to the ridiculous olympics and both's form has dipped considerably.

                            Give Lucas until xmas and you'll see a marked improvement.
