After a scrappy opening Sunderland manufactured the first real opening of the match on 10 minutes when the dangerous Chopra pulled the back for Jordan Henderson but the youngster was denied by a magnificent save low to his right from Dean Bouzanis.
The Aussie keeper was making his first start of the season in place of Peter Gulacsi and he continued to justify his selection just minutes later when he made an instinctive stop to keep out Chopra's angled drive.
Liverpool Reserves: Bouzanis, Darby, Insua, San Jose, Huth, Plessis, Pennant, Spearing (Brouwer 71), Ngog, Pacheco (Flynn 59), El Zhar.
Liverpoolfc.tv man of the match: Dean Bouzanis: Kept Sunderland at bay with a series of magnificent saves.
I've heard good things about young Bouzanis. Is he only 16 or 17 ?
No worries reading the game report on Sunderland.com .. because our one is total wank .. it seems it was Chopra Versus Liverpool Reserves .. scored one made one and could of had a hatrick if it was not for our young Auzzie keeper
Anybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015 #****CITY
Ablett isn`t to happy with the result.
Says the goalie is the only one with any credit after the game, and that the players that should have impressed before the Crewe game didn`t perform. http://liverpool.no/cda/storypg.aspx?id=16722&zone=1
wouldnt have him in my FF team, isnt he being treated for alcoholism?? may not get too much first team action.
That didn`t stop his manager being great player. Keane should be pretty understanding about something like that, and know how to help him.
Having said this I don`t know anything about Chopra, or any problems he might have.
Anybody seen it ? Was Chopra any good .. have him my FF team
Saw the game and the pitch was very small. Sunderland were very physical and this was a good test for Pacheco to see if he can handle a more physical approach. A lot of people who think he's ready for the premiership need their head examining - Pacheco was very poor and could not handle the pace and power. He never got a moment on the ball - he was closed down quickly and they were way too strong for him and this wasn't even premiership standard. In my opinion, he's many years off playing for Liverpool's first team and unless he gets stronger on the ball he's never gonna make it.
I didnt think we were too bad yesterday. Pennant was shockingly bad. El Zhar was very good I felt. He took about 5 really bad challenges in just the first half. He showed good pace, trickery, strength and in general ran his arse off. He scored our only goa. If anything, Pacheco should be using El Zhar as the benchmack for his physical development as they are roughly the same height. Pacheco doesn't have El Zhar's pace though but definately has a better killer pass in the final third
I think he's a handy little footballer and I'm looking forward to seeing him up close against Crewe on Tuesday, but if wants a proper career at the highest level he really has to get a move to a club prepared to offer him regualar first team football.
How come Nemeth didn't play is he injured or something?
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.
