    Why rotation isn't the problem

It's come to my attention that people are making too much of an issue over this rotation lark:

Lets take the premiership as an example here, seeing as thats the competition we all want to win:

Reina - Played every game so far

Finnan - Played every game bar 1 through injury

Carra - Missed west ham game through injury, been in team for all other games appart from Spurs

Hyypia - Sat out 2 games - Chelsea and Newcastle (there will most likely be some changes in this position, with Agger)

Riise - Been injured, unfortunately nothing we could do about that, will most likely stay in the team now.

Gerrard - Played all prem games thus far.

Alonso - Played 6/7 matches - Missed 1st match against Sheff, most would consider correct decision as has looked off the pace, so may not have recovered from World Cup.

Sissoko - Played 6/7 matches - Missed West Ham through Injury

Aurelio - Played 4/7 matches - This is maybe a problem position for us, as we don't seem to have a stand out contender for this spot. Aurelio and Gonzalez are both new to the league, and will take time to settle in. Maybe missing Harry Kewell here.

Bellamy - Played 6/7 matches - Rested v Everton, after internationals, don't see a problem with alternating strikers personally.

Kuyt - Played all 4 games since his first start.

So if the premiership is the competition we want to win, can someone tell me what the big problem is, because it quite evident to me that our team is as follows:

    -----------------Reina---------------
    --Finnan----Carra----Hyypia---Riise---

    --Gerrard---Alonso---Sissoko--Aurelio--

    ------------Bellamy---Kuyt------------

    Bench:

    Crouch
    Garcia
    Dudek
    Pennant
    Gonzalez

So the way I see it, we have two problem positions CB and LW. Agger has given Rafa a problem by forcing his way into the side, but it will take time for him to take over from Sami. And LW, is a problem because no one has really taken it as their own yet. Lets not forget Gonzalez and Aurelio both new to this league, and we've still got Harry Kewell to come back, who if fit will take this position back.

you can't just take the premiership in isolation, that's the point.

    game to game consistency

In the cold light of day, it makes interesting reading when laid out in black & white.

Look at the 3 away games weve lost. All 3 of them we created enough chances to have won each game comfortably. We just arent putting them away. That be the problem.

I'm not convinced rotation is the problem either. Picking the wrong team is the problem.

Of course you can - Everyones banging on about winning the premiership, thats what everyone wantes to win the most.

Lets also not forget that Rafa is trying to intergrate no less than 5 new players (6 if you include Agger), into the squad. There's going to be some problems, while he's trying to decide on his best 11. I'm sure by Christmas we'll be on the right track, and if Rafa has identified a problem position, he might make a purchase, to fill that hole.

How did you manage to change the title of your thread, Morphorino?
                  .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

What ever happened to "A team should pick itself".................form players should be the first f#ckin names on the teamsheet. Crouch scored twice during the week and one of them was probably up there with the best ever goals scored at anfield and he was left on the bench. By all means rotate players that need a rest or are just playing poor. Bellamy has been average at best the last few games. Bolton away needed Crouch on from the start to unsettle the bolton back four. I think Rafa got this decision wrong.
                        Dare we believe

he has consistency every 1 in 3 games
