We did all we can but didn't have a clue in attack. It's time we worked on our playing style. We are alehouse but with star quality individuals. A couple more of these and it's over for another year. Shame that the fantastic United game means **** all. The lads gave it everything, but as I said, we were clueless and failed to take players on. Nothing new then.

Your favourite descriptive word at the moment. Countless times you use it to describe the team. ****in joke. Our playing style had nothing to do with todays results. Our finishing and setpieces was the root cause.

Rash however poor we play I wouldn't never class how we play as Alehouse. I think it's a disrespectful comment.

And please dont cite the Mancs as your example of this not being the case, because they are the most counter attacking team ever. Solid defence breaks it up and players who are faster than Linford Christe break out and punish the opposition while their still up the other end of the pitch.

It used to piss me off when Geds team was slated for bein counter attcking, yet everyone would cream over the Mancs for playing the exact same way

Not the end of the world,we did everything but bad shooting and a bad decision cost us.Keane had 2 great chances and Torres had 3,especially his header.We can cope with Keane or Torres not being on form but both of them gives us a problem as it would with any other team.

Frustrating game

Felt leaving out Mascherano was understandable, and the more attacking team could deal with Stoke. However was not the case, lots of positives to pick up from the game though, mainly our left sided play which has come on massively with the addition of Riera.

Also, glad to see we were creating space and chances in their half, an on form Keane/Torres would have put away at least one of their numerous chances today, but wasn't to be be the case

IMO, despite this being one of our major banana skins last year where a team parks the bus, i will put this down to our strike force not quite clicking. We didn't lose the ball as much as we would have done last year in this kind of game, this was proved by Stoke having virtually zero chances.

The referee changed the game today undoubtedly, have not been able to see Gerrard's "goal" on tele yet, but if it would have stood the game obviously would have been completely different, but these things happen.

Ahhh well, make up for it by beating the Blue ****e
