I've just got in from the match. It was pretty depressing, eh? Why did the ref blow for a freekick for their first goal?

And why the **** didn't Pennant get a penalty in the first half? From where I was sitting it looked like he was in on goal and got brought down yet the ref gave a goal kick!? I have 2 issues with this. Firstly if it wasn't a penalty then it must have been a corner and second if it was Pennant that was last to touch the ball then it should have been a penalty because the defender tackled him without touching the ball. What were your views on this?

I posted this on another thread but no one answered it. Was it a penalty? and Should shove on Kuyt have been a penalty?

Read the threads - match thread for one. Wasn't a free kick. He thought that Reina handled outside the box - he didn't though he kicked it outside

To make it worse his position was poor, and seemed to react to the crowd.

That's my point. If he never touched the ball, which the ref clearly didn't think he did, then it was a penalty. If he did touch the ball it was a corner. It's decisions like this that piss me off. I thought the refs performances were supposed to be looked at but when you see inept decisions like this being made then clearly they get away with ****e decisions like that.

I'm really ****ing pissed off with that today. Not only did get shafted on 2 or 3 decisions that cost is dearly we were also bullied off the ball by that fat ****** Allardyce's team. They must be one of the worst teams I've ever seen and it pains me to lose to them.

We've been out hustled by Sheff Utd, Neverton and now Bolton.
This isn't rocket scient you know - these teams think that by doing this they've got a better chance against us - and at the moment they're right. We've got to at least match their effort and committment if we're to turn this away form around; and then our superior football skills should prevail. Until we do this then we're gonna continue to struggle.

Last season we fought fire with fire and came away from there with a draw and didn't Allardyce hate it?! he moaned and whinged that we kicked them off the park. We should have done that again today but we simply allowed them to kick us all over the place.

This seasons away form is becoming a bit to much like that of season 04/05 which is a big worry.

To be honest there's not many away fixtures left that will bother us appart from Arse - who always seem to give us a hiding these days, and Man U - but we've done well against them at greyskull recently even tho the results didn't reflect it. Maybe villa as well if they carry on in good form but thats about it.

They just seemed first to every ball today, which pissed me off. Every 50-50 they won...but the game really turned on that utterly crap linesman's decision, before that we were looking good.

It was certainly one of the worst decisions I've ever seen- he was nowehere near to being in line with it but he looked as if he was poised waiting to give it, and he did it with such conviction as if there was no way he could be wrong. ******. He should lose his job for such a **** decision.

Having said that, we defended it extremely poorly. Let's face it, if we defended that free kick properly, then it would have been an insignificant mistake from that knob of a linesman which no one would give a second thought to

I think loosing his job would be a tad unfair but I do think that there should be proper disciplinary procedures in place for persistantly bad officiating and lets face it there was a lot of that today.

As for the defending of the freekick... I can accept that but what I find unacceptable is that for the 3rd time in 2 games an opposition player has scored from a free header in our 18 yard box completely un-challenged or un-marked. Did we not learn anything on Wednesday?!
