Pennant's not good enough in my long held view.

Dunno about Gonzo but he seems about sixth choice even behind the likes of Aurelio and Gerrard, so who knows.

I won't assume he's good if Rafa won't have the confidence in him to play him. So based on what I know, the 3 at the back with wing backs appears the only way to get a good 11 players onto the park.

Pennant will come good and Gonzo is still learning about the english game. We have the basis of a fantastic team.

I think Pennant has been playing well, i think the thign we havent been doing is using our width at home enough and out centre midfield and craig bellamy away. Pennant and Garcia (through gritted teeth) Aurelio or Riise, can be used to get balls in to Kuyt and Crouch where as Bellamy is more effective playing off the shoulder asway from home.

Thing about Gonzalez is that he didn't play at the weekend because he was injured.

The other times he's been benched I can't explain. When he has played he's been direct, pacey and has scored twice. I thought he looked good in the charity shield for example.

We need to see him for a run of games so he can be judged properly I'll admit. But as you ask why hasn't Rafa been starting him?, he certainly can't be worse than Pennant, and when he has played he's certainly been miles better. Plus if he plays it means no wasting of Stevie G on the left and we're better balanced. Rotation for rotations sake it is.
