I wasn't there so can't comment. But shocking if it were the case.
I think there were lots more than 20 people singing it, but it was in response to the Evertonian's chants and hand gestures. I'm not justifying it and I wouldn't sing it myself, but it's like saying okay **** you were not arsed what you say we're beating you so shut the **** up, kinda thing.

I like The Elephant Man song for obvious reasons.

The fact that some idiots on here think its acceptable for Liverpool fans to sing "2 nil to the murderers" and put it down to irony sums it all up.

If it happened it is a disgrace, 100% disgrace. I'm sure all those who lost loved ones will get the 'irony'

People bleat on about 'The Liverpool Way' have meetings with the manager and owners about dragging our club through the dirt etc.. then we go and do something like this.

I hope to god it isn't true, if it is then we should all be ashamed.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Jesus christ, get a ****ing grip will you? It's a song that makes their supporters look completely stupid. You totally miss the point.

Just like after Hillsbrough Utd supporters started singing "wheres your famous Munich song?" and made us look like complete cunts.

I think it's easy, in the cold light of day, to say how disrgaceful it is. In a calm and composed manner, i doubt many of us would sing it.

But if you encounter the everton fans jibes, if you sit there being vitriolically abused constantly and if you're in the midst of a highly tense derby atmosphere, in the heat of the moment, i can understand why people might've sung it.

Furthermore, it's important to see the function of singing it - it's done to highlight what a bunch of cavemen they are in the first place to sing 'murderers' at us. If you can grasp that point, it's easier to understand why our lot responded the way they did.

Sensible, composed viewpoints would argue against it but who's sensible and composed in the midst of a derby at the pit?

I'm sorry if it upsets people but I don't get or understand how singing 2 nil to the murderers is right.
                        Irony or no ****ing irony.

Chris - Maybe you should get a grip if you think it is acceptable, I don't but I haven't abused you have I? I've stated an opinion that I don't think it's right, if you don't agree then fine, no problem but don't try and justify it by saying "look what the mancs did"

                          Speak for yourself.

Personally I think, whilst perhaps ill-advised, the chant is supposed to highlight the utter stupidity the blue****e show in continually perpetuating this idea of us as murderers and this is a retort to show how ridiculous the concept is. It's not a show of pride by ANY means.

To be honest, who gives a **** whether it's acceptable to you or not? Telling us how ashamed we should feel, well, stick it up your arse.
