I say bring in Agger, Babel and Mascher if he is back fit. Maybe Aurelio at left back to. Yossi to but Kuyt would probably want to play in this one.

Nothing special, but he was rarely tested in truth. I would say he did his job, alot like Finnan used to. But for £7m he will have to deliver more than that.

He needs to start offering what Cole, Clichy and Evra do at their clubs, an extra attacking force. But if he can sort out his defending and be as dependable as Finnan that will be a good start.

He looks better than the nightmares we suffered in pre season anyway.

Pretty pooly to be honest. Poor touch but one or two decent crosses. Not enough for me.

Think it was the cross for Torres third was a peach, if only the goal had of been allowed. If he can keep crossing like that then he could turn out to be something special.

I agree, but he needs to get the balance between defence and attack right first. If he was a right back he'd be perfect already as Kuyt would compliment his game perfectly. As it is he has Babel and Riera in front of him so he can't expect to much help at defending.

Whilst we are on the subject of full backs, I've seen enough from Degen to suggest he will compliment Kuyt well on the right. Good competition for Arbeloa. If he is ever fit that is anyway!

Yup with both players being new its going to take them a while to get used to how they both play. All to often they got in each others paths, hopefully they should sort this out pretty quickly.

I always think that the key. We have seen he has a good cross and is willing to bomb on but he will only get confident and be able to add something to the team if/when he sorts out the basics of defending.

I thought he was better against Everton as the game went on but he and Riera have yet to strike up any understanding in terms of covering one another defensively and Dossena's positioning seems not noticably better than Riise's at the minute. It was the first game of the season when I haven't seen him pushed off the ball though which is nice.

What did Keane do for the second goal? I genuinely can't rememeber. Either way, Dossena was pretty poor but he can, on occasions, put in a great cross. Fingers crossed he does more of them.
