"it's got some clapping, the words 'let's go!' and surf guitar"

"It's the Champions League theme tune"

Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

it's become a bit of a running joke with me and my bird, we've been asking everyone we know who goes and no-one knows what it is

she knows more than most of the lads in the Willowbank but it's this song that's been amusing and bothering us for too long

has it been playing for years? if so it'll likely be an old merseybeat song or something.

you could always contact the club if you really want to know.

heres some youtube vids of anfield at half time...any of them got the song?

“At a football club, there’s a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don’t come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques”. Bill Shankly

I have gone directly to the horses mouth and sent an email to what apparently is George Sephton's email address about the song.

Will post on here when I get a reply.

Could it be this - has a John Peel connection? Seems a strange choice.. But then, how come no-one has noticed whatever it is being played over the years?

                          from wiki

""Let's Go Trippin'" is an instrumental by Dick Dale and the Del-Tones. It is often regarded as the first surf rock instrumental. It quickly reached #4 on influential Los Angeles station KFWB, and later reached #60 on the national charts.

The Beach Boys covered Let's Go Trippin' on their album Surfin' USA.

The song was used as the theme tune to the BBC Radio 4 programme Home Truths, originally presented by John Peel."

Got an email back from George Sephton. Very quick in replying to me.

The song is by The Routers and is called "Let's Go". He says its from the early sixties, he attached an MP3 of the song to the email and its defiantly it.

PM me if you want me to email it to you.

All makes sense after the first 5 seconds!

Over the years I have wondered where this started.
