    is sammy the difference

i know we have had good starts before, but dont you think this one is different at the moment unlike in the past we don't look like we can be beaten (watch us get ****ted by city at the weekend now Ive said that) but joking aside, the lack of rotation and Rafas admittance that he will play the in form players and not concentrate on fitness and fatigue which he as done in the past sounds to me like he is taking the advice of somebody who knows the premiership well. enter sammy lee. its no secret that the man is an expert at training and motivating players and probably getting inside there heads, could he be one of the reasons we have started so confidently, like stevie said usually after a game like stoke we go on a bad run but instead they outclassed everton, could the little fella be the final piece in the jigsaw.ps i would love to win the league this season before the inevitable finance arrives it would mean so much make it happen sammy.

Astute post mate. You could well be right with that one. However, after the disappointment last year when we faded away at about this point, I'm keeping my feet on the ground. Especially considering we drew with Stoke a couple of games ago.
Time will tell, if we're celebrating #19 at the end of the season then I think sammy will deserve a lot of praise as being one of the factors which made the difference. Last year we'd have lost the Boro match, I just hope we can keep this run going for another couple of months, then we'll be looking strong.

Sammy is a massive plus point for us.

However i honestly believe that Rafa finally has a squad which closely resembles something that can win the league. In the past 4 seasons i don't believe that Rafa himself thought we could do it because our squad was so much weaker than the other big 3 teams.

Now though, we have built a fantastic squad and have quality all over the park. For the first time since Rafa got here. I know it, we all know it and most of all Rafa knows it. I think he now believes we are ready to challenge and thus for the first time he has set the Prem as our no1 priority because for the first time it is actually a realistic possibility

        RAFA LOOKS FOR VALENCIA TRAITS.

Rafa Benitez today revealed how the current mood at Anfield is similar to the feeling he had at Valencia just before achieving various successes at home and abroad.

Benitez helped the Spanish club to two La Liga titles and one UEFA Cup before taking over as Reds boss in 2004, and he believes his Liverpool charges are edging closer to replicating the feats of his former club.

"I remember the feeling I had at Valencia when we were getting close to where we wanted to be, and I am getting the same feeling now," said Benitez, who will take charge of his 250th Liverpool game this evening against PSV Eindhoven.

"At Valencia I could see the team improving, with better balance and a better mentality, and the confidence improved each year. Now I am looking at Liverpool in the same way.

"It is more difficult to achieve what we did at Valencia in another country and with the massive difference there is here in terms of the investment of some clubs.

"But I can see the similarities now and I think that over the next few years we won't need to spend as much money because we have good players, of a good age, on long-term contracts.

"Maybe we won't need to spend as much as we have done in recent years to get what we want. We are getting closer every year.

"We have been signing players with quality who are settled down at the club.

"It is my belief that the foundations are in place now. The squad has better balance and we have more confidence in ourselves in Europe and in the Premier League."

But the Reds boss admitted he is wary of getting carried away at such an early stage of the season and warned his players they must take one game at a time.

"When you are playing well and winning games, with everyone talking about how good you are, it is important to calm down and get people talking only about the next game," he said.

"It is a dangerous when you hear people talking well about your team, then we have to make sure we do not listen to what is being said but just concentrate on the future."

i will be happier when we are convincingly winning.

at the moment we are not in top gear. however as we know now is not the time to be in top gear.

but its looking promising so fingers crossed.

Its too early to say at the moment, in a couple of months we should have a better idea, but I think he will make a big difference. For the majority of last season remember we didn't even have an assistant, and even though Rafa said he managed ok without one I think it did affect the players as they were quite close to Pako before he left.

With Sammy on board now, I think we have got one of the best assistants around, and I'm sure we will see the benefits this season. Already the players seem to be more up for the games this season, but as I said time will tell.
