Kin ell is Popbitch still going?!

Lol…I hope it’s true too. I bet Dirk’s a great air guitarist. Sure, he’ll lack flair and technique but you can guarantee he’ll sweat his tits off and pull some quality rock faces.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

It's good to see the less glamorous players get a nod here and there. As for his impact on the team, I'm quite willing to concede Rafa knows more than me.
I'm quite willing to concede that everyone knows more than you...

To be honest, I find it really disappointing when I hear that people's main praise for kuyt is that he works hard. Surely that's the bare minimum to expect, not some kind of praiseworthy assessment! For me, kuyt is our weak link and any club with designs on winning the league should replace their weakest players first. It ain't science.

Popbitch died off for a bit, got itself in some legal trouble then came back. Its a bit erratic, but still there. Never as good as Holy Moly though. This weeks Popbitch also had the link to the Guardian article about Kinnear blowing his top too.

I wanna see Kuyt do some air guitar for his next goal celebration, rock on my son!

Legend for his hard work, not LFC quality at all. Rafa's Heskey.

Good job you don't pick the team then. You obviously can't recognise a good team player when you see one.

He played very well and scored in our last game but I expect you have a negative reason for not applauding him.

Give him a break, he's a red through and through and a quality red at that.

I am really happy with Rafa and think this team can do some serious things this season if it stays in form... Kuyt is playing his part but the truth will out when the team goes through a bad patch and he stinks the place out again like he did last season during our bad run.

                  Fair play.

I was upper tier and didn't hear it all game.

He was getting over his fathers death and not really fair to judge him on that. Since he has got his head sorted he has been playing very well.
You might not appreciate what he brings to the team but Torres certainly does, I doubt Torres would have got as many goals last year without Kuyt along side him.

TBH when I see posts like this, I ask myself how would "you guys" (loosely) have reacted to league winners like Whelan, Sammy Lee, Ray Houghton, etc etc.

There are too many on here, that think the league is won and lost on highlight clips. Trust me, it's not, a balance between hard work and pure class, is what wins league titles.

Since he has "got his head right" he hasn't scored a goal in the league, in fact it's 18 months since he scored at Anfield in the league... £10m failed striker who plays out wide because he is a managers favourite.

Torres wouldn't have got goals without Kuyt? Ha Ha nice one. Now if you had said Gerrard you might have had a point.

People were willing to get rid of Alonso this summer as "Barry was better in the league" - if we were going on league records Kuyt would be out on his ear...

The players you mention were superb players e.g. if Houghton was in our current team he would be the best wide player we have in the team... they may not be as good some of the legends they played with but in context they are superb.... that's a stupid analogy a lot of excuse makers try to trot out.

Sorry Rashid but you have stuck a big "striker" label on his head and expect him to just perform that task.

Many large organisations that have a well sorted HR department will have business excellence whereby staff skills are assessed and they are placed in other areas of the company where they will be better used.

Rafa has taken this concept and used in on Kuyt. He is still a goalscoring threat but his main skills lie in creating space and doing all the donkey work for Gerrard, Torres, Babel etc to shine.

It's not glamorous or quantifiable but it's a ****ing important job and not many players have the stamina, discipline or tactical acumen to perform it.

In my eyes, if allows £20m players to score for fun and perhaps win us the league then he is worth every penny of his £10m.
