    scapegoats

every time we lose the inevitable threads blaming one player or another arise.
for yesterday ive seen threads on bellamy pennant reina gerrard, is there any more.
the entire team played **** yesterday, we were poor.
2nd game this season were we never really got going albeit not helped by a blind linesman.(neverton being the 1st)
lay off the scapegoats one players form doesnt make for a team performance.
im not saying there is anything wrong in criticising players btw but just fail to see the point in blaming one player for a defeat when everyone around him was just as ****.
in fact if the rest of their teammates played as well as the could youi shou have no problem carrying a couple of players who arent playing well every week.
Parry is a clown. En Rafa que confiamos

We can't afford to have passengers mate. And it's not about 'blaming' individuals for a defeat or finding scapegoats; for example Pennant & Bellamy haven't played at all well for us thus far and are open to criticism. Granted they'll get probably the rest of the season to prove themselves...but these are players who are used to the league and could be expected to slot straight in. It hasn't happened yet which is why they're both getting a bit of stick.

i think those two are getting some question marks too because there must be many who doubted whether they were good enough when they were bought. certainly thats how it is with me.

you watch players from other teams and form judgements. some of those players will fall in your "not that good" pile. then if we buy one or two from that pile you think oh no.

then you hope that you were wrong in your judgement.

then they perform in the exactly same way that you've always judged them and so your fears grow even more.

its like any gambler would never back a horse to do something they've never done before. so for those who don't believe that either of these players have ever been shown that they are the kind who are good enough to play important roles for LFC, its difficult to have faith that they'll "come good" and do something that, in your own view, they've never shown themselves capable of before.

still hoping i'm wrong obviously. but not seeing much sign of it yet.

not that those two are the reason for our stuttering start by the way.

Players can only be judged on their performances, nothing else. And so far Bellamy and Pennant have been awful. Kuyt's done okay. Reina's looked decidedly shaky this season. Alonso has been mediocore. And most criminally of all Rafa isn't getting the best out of Gerrard.

The only positives so far are our home form, Crouch's form, and the emergence of Agger, but apart from that we need massive improvement.

And I don't think Bellamy and Pennant are good enough to play for a side who have designs on being champions, sorry but that's just my gut feeling on them having seen them play thus far. Not LFC material, and they weren't Rafas first choice signings either.
