Anybody else notice that we've scored two goals in two matches from corners? Usually we are crap from set pieces. Both goals involved Torres moving across the box. Kuyt's goal against PSV came from a Torres run across the box to volley a corner for Dirk to pick up the rebound and then Torres' second yesterday.

"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Bout ****ing time too. We win so many of the *******s, we should make it a high priority.
The ball that Stevie whipped in was a cracker, thats exactly the type thats needed. Quick and dipping

It won't be long until teams notice that we leave the front post area free and then run into it as the ball swings in. They'll just put a man there and that should see to it. Hopefully, we'll have a bit of variety to them...
..happy with Pellegrino if this is an area he is looking at though!!

It seems a bit odd for us to be only concentrating on attacking corners now. Last season was the zonal marking from set pieces. Can the players not get to grips with more than one thing per season. Set pieces have kept Bolton in the PL for ages. Our ineptness from set pieces is something thats bothered me for ages, real pleased to see some positives, long may it last. Very funny to see Pellegrino along side Sammy, not sure Sammy could offer much by way of aerial experience. He'd know where to find a ladder in a hurry.*************************

All that practice at taking corners against Stoke city have paid off!!"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.
Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

To be fair I think we have improved markedly in defending set pieces too. Before the Man City game someone bought up the statistic that we were the only PL team who hadn't conceded from a set piece.Originally posted by billy_mac View PostIt seems a bit odd for us to be only concentrating on attacking corners now. I agree that our failure to take advantage of these situations has been a real problem for us in the past. Hopefully whatever it is we have changed continues to pay off."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
