In that case nowhere in Spain seems suitable. There's a beautiful stadium over 300km away with a fantastic history, friendly to Spanish. Lets hold it at Anfield!

Call it off and give us the points.

REDS EXPRESS CONCERNS OVER UEFA MOVE

        Paul Eaton 14 October 2008

Liverpool have written to UEFA to express their strong concerns over the timing of the decision to move next week's Champions League game against Atletico away from Madrid.

"To say the decision is a bit late in the day, is to put it mildly," said chief executive Rick Parry.

"We have 3,000 fans going to the game and we are extremely concerned for our supporters, the vast majority of whom have already made travel arrangements.

"If the match is played at least 300 kilometres from Madrid, it will cause major disruption, inconvenience and large additional expense for our fans.

"UEFA have to take their needs into account when making a final decision on the game."

Cant they just play it at the Vicente Calderón but ban any home fans from attending?

Not feasible I suppose, tons of fighting outside the ground if that happened.

I think the only sensible solution is to just play this as normal and then start the ban for the next home game, so its far enough in advance

Surely the appeal will go in Friday, be heard next week and commonsense will take place and the ban if held will be postponed to the next game. Or am I placing to much faith in UEFA?

Don't worry I think I just answered my own question.

It's a 2-game ban, you can't postpone it because they may never qualify for europe ever again.

UEFA as ever proving to be a total and utter farce of an organisation.

Well I've said it before, a multi-billion euro industry and the ****wits running it are ex-footballers who haven't got a brain cell between them to rub together. Farcical

There's more than one stadium in Seville and there are plenty of others which fit the criteria anyway. That said, commonsense will surely prevail and the ban will be put back a bit.

                        Theres 3 stadiums in Sevilla.

Estadio Olímpico de La Cartuja, which pretty much stands empty all the time. The Celtic/Porto Uefa Cup final was held there.

Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, home of Sevillas' answer to Man United, i.e. Scum.

and the Estadio Manuel Ruiz de Lopera, Real Betis home ground.

All 3 are very decent stadiums and theres a direct high speed train link from Madrid.

Jaysus I hope it's in Sevilla. It's like my second home. Brother in law owns a bar there too.

It really does amaze me how big the game has grown considering these no marks, along with FIFA, in charge.
