i really have this nasty, nasty suspicion that jose has been earmarked to replace rafa. i think we've been in contact and have essentially lined the guy up. i've thought that for a while now.

his comments after he left chelsea about coming back to england, the pressure from the board/parry sure on rafa, these comments today. he'd love to come to us, he dreams of managing us with our fans behind him. when he joined chelsea he referred to a club he wanted to join only that he'd given his word to the chavs. any betting that he's another klinsmann that the yanks are speaking with 'for football advice/insurance policy.' perhaps he backed the signing of keane but not the signing of barry? conspiracies eh. gotta love them.

come on rafa, win the league twice before your contract expires and piss on all these backstabbing mutha****ers that run/own our club. see if they sack you then the sons of bitches.

    rafa, rafael.

No chance, have you seen the wedge Maureen is on at Inter. No way the Yanks would be prepared to pay him that. That is just one reason why it's bollocks, there's many more.

...Mourinho was arguing with a reporter ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League match at home to Werder Bremen. The journalist was criticising Mourinho’s tactics so the Portuguese asked him to pick his team.

“I’ll do it if you give me some of your 9 million-a-year salary,” the reporter quipped.

Mourinho barked back: “It is not 9, it’s 11 and with sponsors’ money it goes up to 14.”

Jose Mourinho who is under constant criticism in Italy and has told close friends that the one club he would consider managing in England again would be Liverpool, whether this would go down well with the Anfield crowd is another matter but it is an interesting thought.

One of the biggest problems for Mourinho is that his close “friends” and “sources” close to the club are forever leaking his one liners to the media and unlike the English media the Italians just do not take to Mourinhos tirades and controversial views and he is beginning to suffer a backlash.

Another issue to consider even though it is very minor is the fact that Mourinho has renewed his League Managers Association membership which is at the very least intriguing.

Mourinho loved it in England, he fed of the press and the fans alike and feels that he has unfinished business and with the constant speculation hanging over Benitez it would not be the greatest shock in football to see the special one set up camp at Liverpool.

Whether Mourinho's “friends” can be believed or not is up for debate but it would certainly be entertaining thats for sure, though this writer just can not see it happening.
Mourinho and Liverpool. I used to quite like hating Mourinho. Never doubted his abilities as a manager, but don't like his style.
Btw. there's a funny story in Carra's book where he describes that Rafa before a league game with Chelsea..ah well .. hang on..i might as well find the quote...

" (Rafa) "I've just told the media you're a better player than John Terry" Rafa told me. Then he started laughing as he made a tell-tale signal, putting his hand to his nose and pulling it away to imitate Pinocchio.
I waited a few months and got him back. Before our Champions League semi-final with Chelsea, I was handed the press conference duties.
"what did they ask you?" Rafa quizzed me.
"I told the you're a better manager than Mourinho" I said, and then repeated his Pinocchio mime"

"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Good manager, but seems like a horrible selfobsessed cunt.

Don't think this will even be an issue, as Rafa is on his way to becoming a legend here

While I really rate Mourinho as a manager I do dislike his public persona and think it reflects badly on the team he manages. I'm sure someone will be along to say we'd all forget if we won the league and to some extent I think we would, however it wouldn't be quite as special as it would be with someone else and after all we have been through in his reign particularly Rafa.

I'm with barnes10 in that I hope he gets the chance to do so. IMO he deserve at least another season after this to show that his holistic approach can pay dividends at all levels. It has worked in the reserves and I think we are seeing improvements in the first team. The worry is that there does appear to be a youth/reserves and reserves/first team disconnect at the minute. the latter I think will probably just be a matter of time but we need the former sorted out quickly.

The first team have progressed significantly in personnel and seem to be blending better as the season goes on. I think though that if Rafa wins nothing this season our owners will want him out. I think it would be a gross injustice in all likelihood.

and ahuge own goal/step backwards/financially very costly mistake to rebuild the squad in another manager's image.

Anyone stupid enough to accept even the potentiality of Mourinho being Liverpool manager should be injected with death acid immediately.

For god sake, it's like becoming best mates with the bloke who ****ed your wife - how could you?

I can't believe there are people even debating it on the pretext that he is a good manager - of course he is.

Contrary to popular belief Gary Neville is actually a decent player but I'd rather chew my own dick off than see him in a Liverpool shirt and I feel exactly the same way about Roman's poppet.

some of you just have no standards.
