Has anyone seen Nemeth play? I went to a few reserve games last year and I don't think he's good enough, infact there are hardly any reserve players that will make it, although I do expect us to make profit on quite a few of them when we sell them on.

Nemeth is not good enough for the premiership.

Nothing like giving the lad a chance though eh.

I don't think i'm a cynical person, but when you see a special player at a young age playing you can see they have something about them (Owen and fowler in the 90's, Walcott at arsenal, Rooney at Everton). I haven't seen anything in Nemeth to make me think he is good enough to play in the first team.

Scoring a bag full of goals in the reserves against players coming back from injuries and young inexperienced defenders doesn't mean that much.

No but he has to start somewhere, and plenty of people have seen lots of him and think there is something special about him.

The 3 you have mentioned didnt have to move countries and get used to a new language and style of play. He did brilliantly for his first season over here, and hopefully if he can stay fit break slowly into the first team.

Havent seen enough of either player but they do seem to be different type of forwards. From what I have saw I would see Ngog more in the Torres role while Nemeth more in the Keane role.

He's a pure finisher. Doesn't do any fancy ****, but gets in the right places and scores. His international record is even better than with the reserves. 14 in 15 games for the U19s and now 13 in 8 for the U21s.

He was also good in the Rangers friendly, he won us the penalty and a blistering shot was saved which rebounded to Yossi to score. That's typical of him, goals just seem to spontaneously happen around him.

Watching the reserves this year really shows how much we miss him. Like I say doesn't do fancy stuff so doesn't generate the same type of coverage as players like Pacheco, but you've just got to look at his record to see that he's a proper footballer.

He's playing against his peers (youth players) in the Reserves & some wiley physical lower league yard-dogs. He scores goals for fun against them. You can only beat what's in front of you. You can see Pacheco is a class player, but Nemeth out scores him by a country mile.
Too many people underrate the art of a goalscorer whilst eulogising over the goal creater. No one would ever say Rushie was a better player then Kenny, but he knew where the goal was & won us many a game with a tap in, or a scruffy goal.

Come on that's a bit harsh. Owen and Fowler? They both peaked way too early in their careers and look at them now
Just because he's not as good as Fowler and Owen at the same age, doesn't mean he's not going to make it.
I've heard from lots of lads who watched Fowler in the reserves and no-one thought he'd have the impact he did.
FWIW I think Nemeth DOES have something about him.

I can understand where ukff is coming from though. Remember Mellor's reserve record.

I think people forget that although both Owen and Fowler were outstanding young talents and would have broken through anyway they got their shot at the first time because of crucial injuries/suspensions to first team strikers.

I seem to remember Owen's debut was because Fowler was suspended, so someone had to partner Collymore! Going further back Fowler was thrown in by Souness in sheer desperation!

Nemeth needs to get first team time and should when fit sit happily on the bench waiting for a favourable game situation.

ronaldo in his first season was always brought on by fergie when they were a couple of goals up rom memory. Easing him in and not putting to much pressure on him. Sure he will get a chance at some point this season
