      It's a grey area mate.

Sometimes he plays center mid for twenty mins, then Rafa switches it and he'll play just off a striker, then we'll bring on Luis and he's shifted back to the right flank, then we bring on Pennant and he goes wide left.

Or how about stats about how great wingers never have made great captains, that great captains are best from defenders or central midfielders?

Gerrard does not have the discipline to be a great CM unless Rafa changes his system to accomodate Xabi and Sissoko to play behind him. Stevie evacuates the middle of the pitch every time we attack and we are always left vulnerable to counter attacks. In a free role he can play where he wants and score goals without the defencive responsibilities needed to be a CM.
                Dare we believe

I've said it before there is no place in the modern game for a free role player. However i take on board what you say. If he plays on the right he can play with less discipline, and feel more inclined to attack! Just not on the ****ing left - eh?!

That's right - no place for Ronaldinho in the Barcelona team. He just isn't disciplined enuough.
                          Oh I don't know.

well, to be fair, brilliant player though he obviously is, he DOES get carried by the brilliance of the rest of his side in most matches. Ronaldinho is so talented that even in his crappest match he will do something that will be on soccer am`s showboat on a saturday. BUT, most games I see him in, he doesnt contribute much to the team

He's a luxury player though, isn't he? And he's completely overrated by the by.
