Thanjk you.

Eh? Where has he disrespected Carragher? He's asked when people think he might retire. And that when he does he sees Skrtel as his ideal replacement. Stop trying to act like the perfect fan the whole time.
Most of them playing in slower paced leagues in Italy and Spain...how about a list of Premiership defenders who were regular starters past the age of 33/34??
Just a quick list of Defenders/defensive midfielders who played regularly for their clubs after 33
Gary Speed
Tugay
Alan Stubbs
Claude Makelele
Dietmar Hamann
Lee Carsley
Lee Dixon
Denis Irwin
Stuart Pearce
Martin Keown
Tony Adams
Mark Wright
Des Walker
Gareth Southgate
Graeme Le Saux
Sol Campbell
Gary Neville
Lucas Radebe
also what about Gary Mac he was playing for us at 36/37
Hey, I've got a short fuse and don't suffer fools gladly, especially when they're ripping a ledge like Jamie, who was nothing short of stupendous yesterday.
I'd say Skrtel is getting better at bringing the ball out of defence, perhaps Jamie will be given a rest from time to time. Sadly I cant see Sami staying on beyond the end of his contract as there doesnt seem to be a real need for him any more.
We don't need Sami because he isn't good enough to be first, second or third choice anymore at a top club in the PL.
He has been excellent for us, probably one of our best ever defenders, but he isn't Liverpool class anymore.
We can't keep players in the squad based on their past history.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
I think Skunk has a bit of a point to be honest. Not long ago some people were saying Agger was a goner and bringing up all these rumours about him. Now he's played some decent games, Carra is finished. It's ridiculous really
Agger is a class act but Carra is the best defender at the club. The way some people just change from one view on a player to another is a bit of a joke to be honest
Sarb mate, have i got some people on ignore or something?
Cos for the life of me, i cant see anyone here ripping into Carra, dismissing him, criticising him, or saying that he's finished.
I think people undervalue Agger as an out and out defender. He can be awesome at times. Still not better than JC in that regard IMO.
He could probably play as holding or defensive midfielder without any problem. That is how good he is.
He is the defensive version of Gerrard.

It's not issue at 31, no. But you seem intent on making it so.
If you trust Rafa then why are you even bringing it up?
Nobody has said he's too old now, but in 2 or 3 years time he might well be. Rafa is well aware of this fact, hence his persual of other CB options. A player cannot go on indefinitely, no matter how good he may be now.
And yes, in two years time i'll be asking the same thing about Gerrard, in that who will we be looking to bring through the ranks to gradually take over the midfield mantel. Will it be Lucas (probably not, unless he makes a big jump in ability) or one of the reserves...these questions have to be asked, and that's all the original poster did.
I think Skrtel is the more complete defender than Agger.
Agger, good player that he is, is hugely over hyped by a sizable portion of our fans, mainly because he carries the ball out of defence, and is a cool dude with tats.
He certainly isn't quick, his positioning isn't the best, his heading is average, and he hits plenty of aimless long balls.

I'm sure he'll get there in the end, mind.
Is this a wind up post?

Where are these posts?
Thought it was just me thinking that...no one has said he's too old now...in fact, this all stemmed from a poster asking when we think Carra would retire.
It becomes an issue when it affects his form not because we decided to plan 3 years ahead.
but when - in your opinion do think that will be?? - some think it will be two years, imo i think maybe when he is around 34, he will prob start to play less, - if he goes on to be playing his best at 38 then great
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

If they didn't think he was too old, or getting there, why would they ask when is he going to retire?
The mind boggles.
All this stems from the fact that he, and others, prefer Agger and Skrtel, yet just can't admit it.
Instead they use silly hypothetical scenarios 3 years down the line.
Personally thought Sami's 4 minute cameo was the best impact I have seen from a defender for a long time. In fact Sami's last 20 performances for us have been excellant more or less. We are blessed with the best bunch of CD in the world.
This should be a happy moment.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24
